In the comments there's this:
When I was publishing British Car Magazine, I’d have access to not only new test cars loaned by the British factories, but entre to real-world owners for testing, comparisons and other purposes. We did a feature in one issue which I entitled “Super Coupes,” and compared superb examples of the Jaguar XJ-S, the Jensen Interceptor III (which the factory oddly referred to as the “saloon” despite being a 2-door, not 4-door), and the Aston Martin AMV8. I’d set up a breakfast at the foot of the Angeles Crest Forest, where was all met, ate, talked and took some initial photos. The concept here was for the owners of the three cars to swap cars back and forth throughout the day’s drive through the Angeles Crest and nearby canyons, twisties, long straights, etc., evaluating the others’ automobiles as well as getting back into their own…taking notes and filling out a questionnaire I’d prepared in advance. Lots of photo sessions along the way. All three were automatics, of course.

The winner was a surprise! Based upon many parameters and criteria, the most points were awarded to….drum roll please…the Jensen! A truly fun day it was for all!
:D
The future ain’t what it used to be.

It's amazing some of the what I would consider idiotic comments made about this car! :)

Grey and tan. A familiar combo that Adrian did to all the Interceptors he refurbished.
