Mk I Interceptor for sale.

Yesterday I went to see the brother of a chap named Phil Prees who sadly died in September. Phil was the long term owner of 115/2686 which he acquired in roughly 1991 as a restoration project in crystal blue with black interior. Phil was a resourceful man who could turn his hands to most things. He carried out a restoration of the vehicle in the lock up garage behind his house. He welded in some new panels himself and repainted the car himself. It is now for sale. It is currently white, original registration number SJJ 17F. It now bears the number 9 ELL. The car is very presentable. I could only get access to the offside the inner sill of which passes the screwdriver test. The interior all looks very good and original. The offside door sits a little proud, this may be down to adjustment. The under bonnet area looks very impressive, beautifully restored. The bonnet is rather heavy, I suspect that a bit of filler has been used somewhere. The vehicle is fitted with tubular headers and a full stainless steel exhaust. The floor panels are very solid, they are likely to be replacements as they are waxoiled and don't have the thick black factory underseal.

I advised the vendor to put some fresh fuel in the car and fit a battery and get her running then get her in for an MOT. He seemed disinclined to do this, he's 74 and doesn't want the hassle.

Is there anyone out there looking for a good, clean Mk I Interceptor? The family's solicitor has declined an offer of £20k from a classic car specialist. It stands a chance that she has simply looked on eBay and seen some eye watering prices. I would imagine that an offer of slightly above £20k might secure the car. If anyone is genuinely interested pleased message me and I'll pass on your details to Ray the vendor. The vehicle is located in Marston Green near Birmingham Airport.

The history file has a huge pile of receipts from Cropredy, Jensen Parts and Service, Robey.

Thanks Grant, well spotted. I feel stupid now. The family approached by Steve Hickey who contacted me as I am local. It would be good if we could get them a quick, uncomplicated sale.
