It was more the installation or lack of than the color!!

Those look like modern silicone leads. The originals would have been PVC with copper conductors. Inspecting an FF not used since the 70s, I saw beige PVC/copper plug leads on it with black end caps. At the time I was wondering if they were actually faded orange.

I guess this car has never had a working Maxaret on it at all in the last 10 years, which is more of a shame than the colour of the plug wires. It appears not to have been fitted for shows etc.
