It was originally Metallic Fawn with Moorland Peat roof.
Beige interior.
According to the 320 Short Stories book, the original owner, Mr. Hill from Belfast, (Clarence Clothing Company) had the car until 1982 when the owner died. The family then sold the car.
It wore the registration number 7000 OL which was removed when the family sold the car.
The 1978 tax disc therefore seems odd.
Since the Hill family sold the car, it "disappeared" - not known since.
Obviously it has reappeared since the book was published!

You are buying a chassis number, body is at zero. Will take big money and a lot of time and love to get it back. I know, and the body work is the killer.

I would guess Mr Hill stopped driving it sometime during that last taxation period and it sat in a garage until it was sold after he died. Whomever bought it in 1982 never did anything with it. And now it has reappeared from somewhere.

Someone did start the restoration. The rear wheel arches have been removed if you look closely, also the bottom of the front and rear panels, the bottom of the wings, and it looks like the bottoms of the doors too! Perhaps Mr Hill had someone start work before he died, work then stopped after his death, and then the car sat outside the garage that started the work, until they sold it off to pay for their work and storage? Wouldn't be the first time.
