Good luck with the restoration. Interestingly my 115/3104 has different rocker covers. Mine does not the Jensen engravement and the slotted groves. Was there a change in 1969 ? as the cars are of the same year and only a few chassis number difference. Karan

The answer lies in Richard Calver's Original Interceptor book. "Interceptors generally received silver painted covers but two cars had chromed valve covers to customer order" and "An unusual fitting was made to the last batch for sale in 1970. Being finished after the introduction of the Series II, they were given the distinctive alloy valve covers introduced with those models in 1969".
Answer: yours is correct, the other car likely has had an "upgrade" at some time.

It has. The engine comes out of 123/3730.

Hi Richard, where on earth did you glean that precision of information from?

Probably from looking up the engine number down the Big Jensen Book to see where it was fitted originally. Engine number is given on the link that Martin K provided http://www.joc.org.uk/Interceptor_Mk_1/ ... A965G.html.

No, that link quotes the original number (incorrectly, as it happens). 115/3124 has engine 3025/123E out of 123/3730, or it did 23 years ago, last I heard. Maybe that engine isn't in there any more, but the Mk II rocker cover suggests otherwise.

Serves me right for not looking it up myself before replying :D

 I do ask that owners check my Tie Pin; as I once thought I had made a mistake, but as it happened I hadn't .

The original engine number has now been corrected and I even corrected the link to the album.
