1976 Interceptor III 41,000 miles

Post by PUS212P »

Time has come to part with PUS 212P, advert and photos soon to be posted on Car and Classic.

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1027016" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A three owner car recommissioned in 2009/10, present owner since 2011.

Recommissioning works included full mechanical overhaul with many ancillaries and all consumables replaced, along with a change of colour to the existing black metallic. Inner and outer sills replaced with further works to A posts and floor all carried out by Martin Robey Ltd, photographs available. Replacement stainless steel covers and exhaust system, 17' wheels etc. added at the same time.

Since my tenure all regular maintenance has been carried out without fail and documented, further works have been carried out by a respected JOC technical advisor to include;

- Recent Top End Rebuild including relevant new components and Water Pump
- Replacement Thermoquad Carburettor to replace Edelbrock, recently overhauled
- Front and Rear Brake Overhaul and New Master Cylinder
- New Front Shocks adding to Rear Coil Overs
- Full transmission service
- Rear Diff overhaul
- Replacement front seat cushions
- Replacement rear and reconditioned front seat belts
- Engine mounts and hoses / belts replaced during tenure
- Full Annual Servicing and more.......

Whilst tax and MOT exempt, PUS 212P has just been MOT'd and serviced and has been quoted as a well sorted and straight Interceptor with many thousands spent since 2010. Limited usage has prompted the sale and if I were keeping the car some minor attention to paint would be potentially the next project but by no means essential. The original interior is in good order and this car deserves a new home. Statement of Origin and original warranty worksheet available.

Price: £44995.00 As stated

It's not stuck in the "outbox" Lee, it stays there until the recipient has opened it to read it :wink:

Dear Members,
Good evening from Los Angeles !

We are working on my 1972 Interceptor and we have one or two questions.

1) We took the radiator out of the car and opened it up for inspection at the radiator shop.
The radiator has 5 rows inside. The radiator shop said that 3 rows would be better.
Did the Interceptor radiator originally come with 3 rows or 5 rows and what do the members recommend.

2) We sent the wheel's to be polished and painted. I want nice big meaty tires on the car say Michelin's ?
Anybody recently bought tires for there Interceptor and what size is recommended ?

I will keep you informed of our progress !

Cheers Steven.

if you want a big meaty tyre, try the Avon turbospeed 235-70-15 look great on a interceptor they were the tyre for rolls Royce and Bentley of the era,you end up with a nice width and big bulge sidewall, not the piddlin little 205 look, :wink: G

I'm pleased that you have sold your car and hope it's gone a loving new owner like yourself and we still get to see the car as a club member.. But I'm also sorry that you felt the need to sell, it must feel like losing a close friend..

I hope you have got some very good memories being a Jensen Owner..
Only working half a day now.

Pete.. I was driving through Caterham once and saw a Perana on the back of a transporter.. it had just been painted, I followed the truck and the driver got all Paranoid and pulled over, I asked him about the car and he wouldn't say anything.. He implied I didn't know what it was but I did... I understood his paranoia but just wanted to talk about the car, it was a yellow and this was probably 5 years ago now .. maybe more 8 years possibly?, did you have something to do with the Electrical Shop in Caterham Highstreet?

Hello Grant, that's funny, that was my car, I have a large lack up in Caterham, my driver was probably being careful as was probable worried about people following and stealing the cars etc.
I still got the car albeit have not driven it for a couple of years, cars is in great condition for a Mk1 Capri, interior is like new. Still a lot of fun to drive
Thanks Pete
