I put a bid in on this car before it was removed from sale on ebay in 2014

Here's the text from the 2014 ebay listing:
1971 Jensen FF Mk2

90% restored , move abroad stalled project.

This Mk 2 FF has been off the road since before 1995. I have owned it for 8 years having almost completed its restoration. I wanted this car to be perfect and have spent much money getting it to where it is today including:

Body work restoration and repaint in two pack blue.

Interior retrimmed in leather, new carpets

New Windscreen

New Exhaust

New Alloys,Tyres, Master brake Cylinder.

New rear bumper, front alloy vents, Chrome badging

Rechromed front bumper, Window frames, inner chrome trims, New Stainless side sills.

I even had the bonnet bulge chrome trim remanufactured!

Engine rebuilt with new pistons, reground crank, new shells, new oil pump, new water pump, new holly carb, new electronic ignition, new ignition leads

New uprated radiator fans.

Still to be done. - Brakes need bleeding and testing, 4WD never tested as Engine seized but seems OK and are known to be unburstable. Has steel electric sunroof that doesnt work ( motor OK probably needs removing and refitting. Vinyl roof ok but original. Some wiring needs to be reconnected ( mainly around sunroof switch), Fuel sender needs replacing.

This really is a very reluctant sell and if there was a spares network in Australia I would ship it. Very rare, very appreciating asset to someone with a few weekends to complete.
Does anyone know which chassis number it is? Date of first registration was December 1970 but according to the chassis book only 5 FFs came out of the factory from May 1970 until December 1970 with red interior, #245, #248, #257, #263 and #275.

Don't get hung up on the interior colour from Mr Calver's book, this car has been re-painted and retrimmed. I had it in mind as 277 or possibly 278. The half fluted seats and later door locks make it post 270 at least.

After looking at the front panel work where it joins the front wings, the list of engine works done makes me slightly nervous. Thankfully the 4wd seems to have escaped attention. Still, with the classic car market easing back a bit price wise, it might be a bargain depending on the reserve.

£53,000 internet bid on the day...not sold....maybe a sensible deal will be done post auction although there only seemed to be a one or two bidders starting at £50k.

Bearing in mind the poor general state of the car and the costs to bring it up to standard (transmission leaking, paint issues including the non-std colour, missing air con, perished rubber seals, 10 year old tyres, front end full of filler and the wrong shape, thick underseal hiding who knows what, overspray everywhere etc etc) the bid was a fair one IMHO. Even though one of the previous owners commissioned new bonnet vent chromes, a worn one was still fitted to the car and the bottom part was missing altogether.

278 up for auction again on Saturday. Reduced estimate suggests the vendor maybe should have taken the high bid last time.

What a shame the Jensen market has succumbed and is severly wounded again, The car looks certainly good enough to give a little tlc and use as is, bugger the tubes it wont break in half,
