Believe it or not, the man who did the V8 conversion is still with us:

Dear Mr. Huesken,

Thank you so much for the trip down memory lane !!
I just shared your email content with my dad, Sarkis Najjarian, who did the conversion. He remembers the car and often wondered what ever happened to it.
Will you be restoring the car back to it’s original configuration or will you preserve the modified conversion ?

And yes, it was me that told the story of the impromptu drag race :)

Please keep us up to date on your restoration project

All the best

Sarkis and Raffi

We'll have to rename it now we know that Najjarian is spelt with two j's.

I presume you are keeping it in its modified state?

Good to know The Pit Stop Automotive are still in the business.

Anyone else planning on taking their car to them?
Sounds like they still remember what they did in graphic detail!

Fantastic Joerg!

Great to have more history on the car. Does he still have any documentation on the work done? Cool would also be a garage sticker for your car. If they don't have one maybe they have an old letterhead you could use to create one...

The car looks fantastic- why did you take both exhausted pipes along one side of the car to the rear- is it because of the spare wheel bracket? I just had to go through the pictures of SEA770 and I'm not sure mine has one?

What also struck me was that Bridge Classics had 8! 541s in their garage in 2020. Seems like a very positive sign for the appreciation of the 541 model:

"2020 for us was the year of the Jensen. We’ve had eight 541R/541S’s in this year, some of which are still with us being completed. With only 193 Jensen 541R’s and 127 541S’s ever made worldwide, to have so many in at all really is outstanding, let alone all at the same time."

Both pipes are on the passenger side, at least the driver will not be toasted :-)

Got the logo of Najjarian Auto Sports :-) and I’m in close contact with Raffi ( the son who runs Pit Stop Auto now in San Francisco) to learn more about the conversion. They also converted a Ferrari 250 and other Italian super cars to Corvette engines ( just because these engines are easy to maintain and cheaper to run - and these cars where relatively cheap at that time ).
