Jill’s CV8 MkIII
With heavy heart I am looking for a good home for FAT333C and thought I would let you know that I intend to put the car into Brightwell’s auction in May.

Thanks, Steve and Martin. Happy times but we are just not using her enough and having got her to the point where she is reliable it’s pretty daft that we are parting company!

aww - sorry to read this...hope you start using the car and decide not to sell, but if not, best of luck for a good sale and here's hoping FAT finds a new owner as diligent as you Jill.

Thanks, Richie. The thing about owning a Jensen is that you don’t just own a car you acquire a whole load of friends too.Richie wrote:aww - sorry to read this...hope you start using the car and decide not to sell, but if not, best of luck for a good sale and here's hoping FAT finds a new owner as diligent as you Jill.

Nooooooooooooo!
Find lots of pointless reasons for using it (I do). Then only consider parting with it when it is totally unreliable.

Take it to the shops on a Saturday or go out for a pub lunch on a Sunday and then you will realise why it will be a mistake to sell it.

Re: Jill’s CV8 MkIII
Cheers chaps, I will take her out on Sunday if it’s dry!
Rohan, I have pmed you.
For those that don’t know the car in the last two years Andy fitted a recon gearbox, new wiring loom, stainless steel petrol tank alternator and battery. In the same timeframe we replaced a front kingpin (scary work) had the Dunlop brake servo professionally restored. In years gone by the rad has been recored, thermostat replaced, hoses replaced, electronic ignition ( just had a new orange box last year) and lots of other stuff too. . The previous owner put on stainless steel exhaust pipes and added a bit of colour under the bonnet. The interior is all original but quite tidy and includes the first aid box. The paintwork is a silly colour and a bit tired. Some history but not much other than the pile of receipts I have accrued. Mot ( no advisories) and taxed til Sept. She is like the curates egg...good in parts but she certainly drives well.

Re: Jill’s CV8 MkIII
Jill you can't get the car running perfect just to pass it on for someone else to enjoy, this is just wrong and illegal, with all the work you have had done to FAT, its now your time to enjoy.
Selling would be sad news.

Re: Jill’s CV8 MkIII
You have a point Colin and I did take her out on Sunday for a burble round the roads only to get stuck behind a Classic tractor doing 20mph but it was lovely to put my foot down and roar past it. The thing is Neil hasn’t been very well for the past couple of years ( he isn’t at deaths door by the way) and all the things he was planning to do in retirement...restoring his E-type and doing the sills and floors on the CV8 are not now going to happen. So rather than live life full of regrets about things we couldn’t do we are going to get a fully restored little two seater and drive off into the sunset.colin7673 wrote:Jill you can't get the car running perfect just to pass it on for someone else to enjoy, this is just wrong and illegal, with all the work you have had done to FAT, its now your time to enjoy.

Happier (healthier) times in 2008 when I had just been given a lift back from Swindon in Jill and Neil's glorious C-V8.

The colour is fantastic on the C-V8, good luck with the sale.
