1962 Jensen 541S for sale
having just finally finished the restoration of 100/1062 I now find myself in a situation where I need to move on to another adventure.
Car is listed on https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C946791" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; as I had to start somewhere but would welcome any advice from other members if there is a better marketplace. Car is currently on Irish plates and in Ireland but can be brought back and re imported into the UK fairly painlessly. Car has been completely rebuilt and has had sensible upgrades added which I do not think takes away from its originality. Drives great and I know its on the wrong tyres but I had to stop somewhere. (Incidentally the rubber fitted glue the car to the road, roundabouts are no longer the fun they used to be). Complete photo log and file of the restoration with much history going back to 1990 including the original buff log book. Car used to be owned by Duchess of Pembroke and was one of Mr Cohens cars as well.
Think that £65000 seems to be right for what essentially now is a new car.
thanks for all your help in the past
regards

Re: 1962 Jensen 541S for sale
I brought this car it is fine and I'm very happy with it, Did have bad water leaks around rear side windows soaking the interior, due to very badley fitted seals leaving huge gaps,
and boot with with the same problem.now all sorted, Martin is right the present tyres 205/70/15 - 8.1" wide these big fat sticky radials make the steerng heavy and look wrong,
I know the correct ones should be 640/15 cross ply being nom' 26.4" diameter and 6.7"wide
but I have a spare set of 670 /15 nominaly 28"
diameter and 7.2" wide, (tiny speedo error problem but won't fowl anthing) so I might use these tyres' what do you guys all rekon ? not bothered about the radial being better road holding/comfort etc.
Would like to contact Martin regarding more info on the refurb pictures etc if he still reads stuff in the J O C
Or any one 's got contact info
Regards

The nose of the car also seems a little high. Maybe this will settle with use.
"Now that chassis number is particularly interesting ‘cos it’s the one after the one before, which is the one after mine, not many people know that"

I ACCIDENTLY INVERTED THE DIAMETER's NOMINAL DIAMETER FIGURES FOR THE 640-215 SHOULD READ: 26.5"AND THE 670-15 SHOULD READ: 28" DIA
LATE NIGHT LOSS OF CONCENTRATION! AND COULD NOT FIND A WAY OF EDITING THE POST 2 MINUTES AFTER POSTING

Regarding Stephen's comment "The nose of the car also seems a little high. Maybe this will settle with use." - read the recent threads on the CV8 technical section to see what may be causing this - wrongly fitted wishbones (?) - there are some photos showing what to look for. NB the CV8 and 541S (and mk1 Interceptor) front suspensions are all the same derived from the Austin A110 (although the 541S does not have the front anti roll bar)
