Mate, lovely- but we all have to consider that the mental money asked is fantasy- Look at AM products, only today I was told of something here "that is 120K of any ones" my reply, get your purse out then.
NYC still remains the highest bid ever for an SP- and the loon said no.........!!!!

Please, dont shoot me down, be great if they are nuts money- as said, Escorts?? No FORD should be worth more than a hand finished statue, but there it is.
The market is a funny thing, but there is always an end to the rainbow, only the trade pretends other wise- thus always so.
I hope always for a sustained market, where things flow evenly, & slowly up- why everyone takes cash/pention form paper into 'things' why I have, always.
But, in my opinion, as usual greed comes along to Foxtrot it all up, so the steady eddie pace & growth & confidence, even when things like Brixit, world trade etc, etc, wouldn't necc harm the classic market, then it does, buy stalling it.
Well look at market now, just look at the ob sites.
"Next year its 200k"
Also, quality- so a DBS sells on telly, over night they all hype them to death- how many old donkeys wheeled out from 1990 hybernation-the very half baked things bought for too much back then, they are barn find you know-really??
Funny old game.
That said I bought a Ford, the most expencive car I have ever bought- its magnolia- an SP went for that pile of cack.

Top car Duncan, if I had the dosh etc etc.
I agree with Tim, where is the value in a Mk2 Escort with a funny front and a Cortina engine? Selling for the same dosh as Eric Morecambe's Interceptor? I know which one i’d have, but it’s a personal thing. Obviously Ford Corsair rally cars are fun and worth loads of dosh (yes i’m selling mine).
Good luck with the sale, unless you want to swap for a Corsair

Put all those in the same car park, then rock up in your SP. No competition. Jensens, and your SP, have presence.

Hold firm Dunc. Someone will come along with more sense and money!

Good luck and congratulations on what looks a lovely example and collector's piece.

Whenever there’s a Jensen at any of the classic car shows I go to (which is hardly ever) people glimpse and simply walk straight by them.

Why is it a competition? What makes it a competition?

Having been a passenger in Mark's (Trevithick) SP for over 750 miles in the past few years

I am always amazed at how much it turns heads everywhere..

All the men turn towards their partners and I can see the words 'Jensen' being uttered.

In my opinion the SP only has one purpose in life , and Marks SP delivers it in bucket loads.

It's purpose - To travel 1000's of miles per year in sheer comfort with the ability to put a smile

on your face and everyone's as you speed past them with a soundtrack to die for..

My all time favourite Jensen bar none ..

But that happens with an Interceptor John doesn't it,.. it doesn't have to be an SP for that happen, most people(Joe Public) wouldn't know it was an SP.
Interceptors always turn heads and create a huge talking point, everytime you go out in one there is always at least 1 person to comment, wave or talk about it.
Having said that WE know the SP is a better, faster car though

And it does not go out in the rain, :D

I have had 3 interested parties, but they are trying to compare its pricing to a regular Interceptor, nothing wrong at all with an Interceptor i have owned and loved many, But is an Aston martin Vantage the same money as a regular Aston = NO they carry a premium as should a Jensen SP, I am flexible on my price to let him go but not to be compared with an Interceptor
 :D :D :D

I agree with you Duncan an SP and an Interceptor Mk3 in similar condition I would expect the SP to be worth more

4 SPs (complete running cars not projects) in the last year or so have sold for in the region of 70-90k Approx.

I’ve only been around the cars for about 4 years…....not as long as many of you guys but in that time it looks to me that
the values have pretty much doubled for the SP`s and FF`s with the Interceptors not too far behind as well.

Nearly forgot ……good luck with your sale Duncan

Was that actual selling amounts or asking prices? There can be a big difference.
