That certainly looks very nice doesn't it - isn't it weird how such shades look good on earlier cars (which, lets be fair, look very similar to later ones its only nerds like us that spot the differences) but a similarly hued later car would look awful...

That looks a properly restored car in a great period colour.

Beautiful car. I hope the auction result confirms the price range of gbp 70k+. My insurence refused a value of more than 60k euros (gbp 47k) recently

This should go well above £70k even with buyers premium.

Not sure if Hagerty give cover on the Continent if not point them at their valuation tool

( possibly http://apps.hagerty.com/ukvaluation/ind ... Backlink=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

if in doubt get Angus Forsyth aforsyth@HAGERTY.com a call or get the Chairman to give you a valuation

Another owner in Germany I spoke to had the same problem. I think he was only able to insure his Interceptor for 40 or 45k (euro). Well sorted Interceptor in a very good condition.

I have seen this car and the JOC members other - a convertible and they are both beautiful cars, stored in a heated garage and lovingly looked after.

Having seen this one in the flesh....I wish I had the money as there would be a pre-auction bid!!!!

Actually it was rated based on a "classic data" list which says a mint FF should be available for EUR 45.000  . The "expert" finally offered he could rate it EUR 55.000 with 20% premium for outstanding originality. I tried to convince them with some UK adverts but they insisted on a German market value but I haven't seen a mint FF on the German market for years.

Well, I guess it's not the correct thread to discuss that topic. But auctions will help to record real market prices although the real condition of the cars sometimes can't be rated precisely.

In the UK, it's possible to insure "Third Party Only" - which basically means the bare minimum requirement to be legally on the road.
If you damage someone else or someone else car, you're covered.
However, if you have your car stolen or if you crash and it's your own fault (or a failure of a component etc.) you won't receive a penny from the insurance.
