That's travelled a bit! It was labelled as a "Special" model a few years back. Richard Calver said:
"107 came with six extra features, namely heater, rev counter, screen washers, twin exhaust, overdrive and special head."

Thanks Stephen.

Discussed it with Joerg tonight and he remebered the Momo leather too

Have you noticed the carpet on the rear side of the bucket seats? And the stupid exhaust layout? You can't fit the spare wheel so it is in the boot stealing a huge amount of luggage space ...

It must surely be possible to cut and re-route the exhaust? Why on earth does it have to go that route anyway? Most 541s are reasonably quiet with the standard set-up.

I quite like bucket seats with carpet on the back - very practical and smart. If it wasn't for originality I would like it in the 541. The paint would be improved if an aluminium (or stainless) divider was fitted, like all original two-tone 541s. A small area would need repainting black.

There appears to be a second silencer mounted across the back of the car with the entry on the right and exit on the left to the tailpipes.

The owners are members of the Swiss club (probably also of the Dutch and the English club).

I haven't seen the car yet, they usually show up in their Deluxe. If someone needs the car to be looked at, I'm sure something can be arranged.

The car is up for sale at the Fischer Classic Car Auction in Lucerne (at the Swiss Classic World) on May 28th, and there is an article in Zwischengas.

Wow - stunning.

Still a very much modified car imho. Far from original especially the inside.

Maybe the new owner will join us and enlighten us about the purpose of that non-thru-flow exhaust?

You mean the 2nd muffler? If it is indeed that. The previous owner before the car came to Switzerland would know why that was installed. I don't know who bought the car, but I left a card in the car.

Zwischengas reports that the bidders were in general rather restrained, but that the 541L (!) went for an "attractive" price.

"Einen echten Exoten mit Kunststoffkarosserie erhielt auch der Käufer des Jensen 541 L von 1956 zu einem attraktiven Preis von CHF 88’550 oder EUR 79’775, während die Pagode, ein Mercedes-Benz 280 SL von 1968 für CHF 92’000 oder EUR 82’883 an einen Internet-Bieter ging."
