Jensen FF Body Shell

Post by SteveS »

I have received an email today informing me of an online auction for a Jensen FF body shell located in Germany near Dusseldorf. Apparently, no vehicle identification numbers can be found.

You will find auction details and photos at http://www.industriewert.de/1881

This is all the information that I have.

This is 119/121. The advertisement tends to suggest that all the running gear/trim/suspension have disappeared. Maybe they're still in the possession of the unfortunate former owner.

The wording indicates it as a bankruptcy sale. If so the question is whether it is the workshop or the (non-paying?) owner "autofahrer"? He was online August 15th this year. Does he know about this? If it is the workshop that is bankrupt he had better move fast. Does anybody have his contact details (phone)?

Going by the pictures and comments I'd say the rest is still with the owner.

My secondary school German helps me to establish that the bodyshell is without the tailgate, without the (Webasto?) roof and without the motorhauB (bonnet?)

He is trying to sort it out- as far as I know. It would be terrible if the FF was broken up for parts.

The car was for auction in September on this website, yet. Same for autofahrer's Interceptor (should have been sold for 8500 €). Some Jensenists (incl. me) were contacted by his ex-wife that they were for sale. Zac started a thread which he deleted only some hours later, because of the obscure background. I started a thread, too, but withdrew later, after having contact with autofahrer. Some intrigues seem to go on here. I wouldn't be surprised, if Steve had been contacted by autofahrer's ex-wife again.

Well it's virtually worthless as a shell. What good is an FF shell without all the FWD drivetrain components? I hope that Thomas either keeps it or realises full value of it.

I made a bid at the first auction (I was told to be the only bidder some day after ending with some special right in the name of the ex-wife), but they told me the body and parts could not be found. Now the body seems to be on the sceene again and instead of giving it to me they decided to start a new auction with my highest bid as starting bid. (Germans do not play the same fair play as the British). The auction company doesn´t even know the chassis number and they missed the chance of reuniting 121 with its parts, that could be seen on the first auction.

Today I was told the parts have been separatly sold by the owner of the garage they where stored .... so sad that today an FF that was complete a few months ago will end its life.

I am thinking about restoring 121 and completing it with the parts of my 125 to avoiding part loss and damage while restoring the 125 body-shell, but I am not amused and tend to have no business with that strange auctioneers.
kind regards from the continent

Does that mean that the other parts have been sold to one individual or to several?
If one, then maybe the same buyer will buy the shell and complete the project.
Auction ends on December 2nd.

This was and is no serious auction. Alone starting an auction of two rare british classic cars on a website like this, shows what's going on here. If a creditor wants his money back, he should advertise the confiscated goods to get the best price for it. Nobody who's interested in this kind of cars would stumble over this website by himself. :?
I'm sure the FF is still complete with all it's parts. Thomas is a Jensen-maniac and did much for the publicity of the marque in Germany. He wouldn't let the FF be picked into pieces.

Can I smell fish ?.......proceed with extreme caution....do not part with money unless you are stood next to the car, with your own 4 x 4 and trailer...and a few friends along with you to see fair play..!
This sounds like a marriage break up, with the resultant fall-out.........gets nasty.......and liquidators are just shitehawks.
