I wonder if that owner had spent more on the car than he could sell it for?
I wonder if the employer got his money back?
Great story there.

Steve
I think you may have your cars mixed up? no rust on the tubes in the 12years I've known the car and none now! although there was an incredible amount of money spent on the car, before he went to stay with the queen. I would (and have done) jump in the car and drive it anywhere with confidence, including last years Classic LeMans in 40 degrees without the needle leaving the N position, and its the only Jensen that my wife Helen has ever enjoyed driving  (and I've had a few :) )

Darren, Steve Groves is referring to the car sold at Brooklands for £78k.

No worries Darren, for completeness this car looks great from the photos and Paul is right, I was talking about the brooklands car. I don't think the pricing on this is excessive - that was my point' - the brooklands car cost a total of between 90-100k and this looks a better car from afar so the price looks in line with the auction result.

Cheers

Steve

Ps - as a fellow FF owner I'd be offended if you implied my tubes were rusty too (even though they are on mine and that's why it's off the road!)

If I were in the market for a MKII FF, this would be the one I'd buy. Lovely car.

Seems there's been a few rather tasty FF's on the market of late, not the least of which being the fully restored car ( #260) from the Ferguson Museum a month or two back....
