I'd have to disagree about the Jensen not being a refined luxury classic. If you get one in good order they are a beautiful smooth drive. My 23 year old son is more at home in modern cars. He drives a BMW diesel. On our recent trip to Dublin as we drove along the North Wales coast at 70-ish he remarked to me how well the old girl went. "It doesn't feel like an old car" were his exact words. Now when I drove a very tidy Aston Martin DB6 manual a couple of years ago trust me it felt like an old car. It was a tough drive, incredibly heavy clutch. My left leg ached by the time I reached Stratford-Upon-Avon (having driven from N. London.)

Paul I was eluding to the finish more than any other aspect of the Jensen, I think that's ultimately where you look for luxury. Drive and performance are different. Of course they were limited production and hand built but the interior has always had me pondering, where they needed to have upped the game to attract the rich buyers. Weren't the Interceptor as costly at new as a Rolls.

Sorry Stephen I can't agree concerning interior trim finish either.

Interesting I always found the Interceptor a bit crude and not that well made. Of course the same is true for most small volume cars but at least it came with a good engine and transmission.

I don't think it's a bad thing for our cars to be rising in value, better than falling! And if Interceptors do reach a point where 50k is the norm, well at least it may stop the survivors being cut about and altered. It seems the ones that have are devaluing like modern cars and will eventually fall below the value of a standard well sorted example.
If I did have to sell my car though, it would probably mean never owning an Interceptor again but at least I might not lose money. When was that ever possible before?

I can't see the bottom of the hole I've dug!

Well this FF is no longer on his stock list so I assume that it has been sold.
