Hammer prices of £24k and £34k for blue and black cars respectively so below top estimates before the commission is added in.
Interesting that the black car had an estimate of £29k to £38k yet the hammer price of £34k was described initially by the auctioneer as "provisional" due to the reserve set by the vendor. What's the point of an estimate that is £5k less than the vendor will initially accept? Encouraging bargain hunter to waste their time? That's auctioneers for you! Some other auction houses set the low estimate at the reserve price so that at least you know where you stand.
So for the black car, the vendor takes home £30k, the auction house steals £7k and the buyer pays out £38.5K. What then does that make a similar car worth in the Market...30...34....38? My view would be £34k...
