Re: Early Interceptor Project for sale

The hardest parts to find with these basket cases are the gauges if missing, but they are present on this one. Body looks like it has been shot at. or been attacked by some mad person with an ice pick ?? Well there is a company here in UK who could probably make a new chassis. I wonder if the gearbo...

Re: 1952 Jensen Interceptor Cabriolet on ebay

Hi John, I had forgotten that there were at least three early Interceptors for sale at the same time in the UK, thanks for pointing that out : My mistake. Can't figure out why they are not snapped up, as they are nice touring cars, or have they now been sold .? If anyone is ever thinking of buying o...

Re: 1952 Jensen Interceptor Cabriolet on ebay

I believe that was the Benjamin Britten one. At one time I lived not far from him, but never saw the car on the road at any time, so possibly low millage, although he may well have done a lot of trips to London, being a famous conductor/opera writer etc. Wonder how good the chassis is ? Hopefully re...

Re: Very nice 541 for auction near Cologne / Germany

Hi Felix, very interesting the work done by Dennis Welch. Not sure why they had to machine bearings to fit the block at the time, unless they could only get wider bearings and had to reduce the width to fit. Not sure if that was an original Registration plate or not. It was in Suffolk for a time nea...

Re: Very nice 541 for auction near Cologne / Germany

Looks very high at the back ? Wonder if they have the spring hangers correct way up ? Perhaps just new springs.
What is the chassis number for this car ?

OK John, don't keep me in suspense, how do you do it ?
It normally happens when I save the photo from a pdf file.

Re: Early Interceptor in Norway

A photo sent to me by the owner in the 80's. From memory he lived in the northern part of Norway. He came over to UK to see me to purchase a set of pistons and cylinder liners I believe and a half shaft. I am not sure, but he might have sold the car to his friend who I also met, named Knut Knutsen, ...

Re: 1950 Invicta "with Jensen body"

Probably a scam, I sent a message to the "seller" a week ago asking for photos showing chassis condition and heard nothing since .
He is still looking for Invicta chassis photos on the net to clone I guess.

Re: 541 horn push

The above horn push is totally wrong and I doubt if any of the parts would interchange.
Inner side should look as below picture.
I can get the "Jensen" engraved if required on the buttons.
I did have to sit down when seeing the Aston price fr re-manufactured ones.!!

Re: early 4 lt. Interceptors

The 4 litre Interceptor may have been a bit forgotten in the past, but I have always had a liking for them, due to having driven a convertible version many years ago. They handle very nicely, steer easily and have quite a good turn of speed if the need arises. An ideal touring car. The one I had the...

early 4 lt. Interceptors

Has anyone noticed how many early 4 litre Interceptors there are for sale at the moment ?
Four or five in UK and one in Holland I believe.

Or possibly something after this style ?
The center "O" could resemble the London Eye and be a great tourist attraction.

Re: Notre Dame

Looks like I am on to a winner then; better nip down to the bookies.!! I guess a good deal of the millions/billions we pay into the common market may well go to paying for the Notre Dame resto job. Instead of shelling that obscene amount out to Europe, how much would each ligitimate tax paying Brit ...
