Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)

the one place you should not be looking is YouTube. Harry's or Clarkson's or whatever channel - all they want are clicks/subscriptions I think you are rather underestimating Harry Metcalfe. The Harry's Garage clip mentioned is just a guy with an A4 notepad standing in his garage and talking for hal...

Re: Name that car

Saw one of these at the NEC show in 2022. It was primarily an invalid car, although it was also marketed at "the little lady" to go shopping.

Well, haven't we all confused Milanese rationalist architecture with Le Corbusier's postwar oeuvre at some point?

Re: Chatting with Chat GTP about the C-V8

The Jensen FF was first built using a C-V8 shell, so that is fair enough.

Re: Chatting with Chat GTP about the C-V8

One of the most significant achievements of the Jensen brothers was the creation of the Jensen Interceptor. Although this would have dismayed Richard and Alan, who disowned the Interceptor, it was still very much their creation. The overall concept, the American V8 engine, the inner body constructi...

Re: Viperceptor at Historics Auction RUF 340M

Interesting how the commendable effort by the builder to christen it the "Segrave" has fallen by the wayside. Some names just seem right, and it will always be the Viperceptor to most people. Rather like the Dartford Crossing bridge is officially the "QE2 bridge", but is almost u...

Re: Classic cars on the road

Clarkson reckoned the Mk2 Escort was one of the most beautiful designs, but you have to see it like this to appreciate it - most of them have been mucked around with by enthusiasts or modified for motorsport.

Lovely old Humber! Could it be this be this one at Bonhams in 2009? A few things painted a different colour, and that bulldozer bumper system is different! 1926 12/25 Humber https://images1.bonhams.com/image?src=Images/live/2009-08/17/7923763-1-1.jpg&width=640&height=480&autosizefit=1 ht...

Non-Jensen - Vehicle stolen

I see from Facebook that Brendan Murtagh's Enzo has been stolen - not a Ferrari, but an expensive motorhome. Re: Anyone else getting phishing JOC specific emails?

Not me, only on Facebook from a "Kees". The not-really-Kees was keen that I should submit my details to "the Lions Club" to get a payout, which prompted a long surreal conversation where I pretended to think that he was talking about real lions. Eventually, he wrote in exasperati...

Re: 115/3010

Not an expert, but if it is 3/8" BSF it would surely be 20 tpi?

If it was 3/8" 16 tpi, it would be BSW. That is used more on castings, I think?
