What a wonderful adventure!
Just thinking if that Webasto roof is going to stay in place? I can imagine the low pressure at speed above the roof will be trying to suck that thing off its rails..
Anyway, gotta get that speed first. Good luck and safe travels.

Good for you Mark. I'm sure Donna will have some comfort in knowing the car, no doubt cherished by her late husband, and her interests are being genuinely considered.

I would've thought 600 quid was pretty good from the first round. It'd look good in a museum as is??
Anyway, good luck to him (and his Dictionary)

Two things.
One; The bloke leaving it to rot needs swift kick in the....
Two: The bloke selling it needs to revisit some basic spelling and grammar lessons.
Poor old thing. Hope it goes to a good home.

Re: 115/3067 bought back from France
Hi Kevin, Great review, thanks for doing that - time for me to start saving! I'm no engineer but I don't think the use of washers to space the wheel away from the calliper is healthy for the wheel studs. I know available spacers cover the face of the hub and distribute the load evenly, whereas the w...

Re: Jensen Kenny38
Chris, There has been a recent change to 'Historic' vehicle regulations in NSW which (now) allow for the vehicle to be used for 60 days annually without any record of use as previously sanctioned by a club. Such use as you've described. In addition, the plates are registered with the club, and there...

Grant,
Congratulations, and with your outboard motors, wheels and signs collection, life does appear complete!
May I ask about the wheels on your Mk2.
Have they been reversed, and where did you find those dress rims??
Matt
(another happy Mk2. owner)

Re: Cars names
Interceptor 2 - named by my son (Angus), as 'Steve'. Why?, because he thinks it's cool and I have impressed upon him the 'cool guy' of cars to be Steve McQueen. https://www.joc.org.uk/forum_images/albums/aa58/mudmouse_photo/IMG_2775.jpg I've had other projects called 'Wendy', for dear wife asking, '...

Re: pinking??
I always thought it was "pinging", or "ping'in" as it was once explained to me - and clarified as pre-ignition which I have used since. I don't like the word "pinking" because it sounds like a made up word. As for the afterlife, I prefer the words of the late Kerry Pack...
