Re: Humidity in garage
Does a dehumidifier work if there are gaps around the garage door? Would it not be trying to dehumidify the outside world as well? Yes, to an extent, but in my application it does seem to keep the garage very dry. From what I understand a gap at the doors and an airbrick at the back is no bad thing...

Re: Humidity in garage
My double garage is also detached from the house and has air gaps all round the up and over doors. It used to suffer really bad condensation which was a real problem for me because I stored some vintage hi-fi as well as the JH in it. Not a pretty sight to see water running down the fascias of valuab...

Re: Interesting car, nice provenance
I like that,, the bollax estimates are to get people signed up to bid then get carried away in a bidding frenzy,, Hmmm, generally the sceptic in me would agree with you, but I have been keeping an eye on these auctions (they hold 4 classic auctions per year) and their estimates are usually fairly c...

Interesting car, nice provenance
I suppose they all to to a greater or lesser extent, but this one caught my eye as particularly interesting. Reading the letter made me feel quite sad! http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/classic-auctions/latest-classic-car-catalogue/saturday-4th-november-2017/1967-alvis-tf21-the-last-car/" o...

Re: Jensen-Healey Lenham Hard Top
Thanks for clarifying Kees. When I mentioned the rear fixings at £15 per pair from Robey's, these are the T brackets that you refer to. They are mounted directly above the seat belt inertia reels. As you say, the Lenham top does not have fixings for the rear deck.

Jensen-Healey Lenham Hard Top
I have a Jensen-Healey Lenham hard top for sale. I bought it a few months ago but have decided I don't need it. It has a heated rear screen and is in generally good order throughout, but the headlining was poor so I have removed it. New headlining material is easy to get and straightforward to fit. ...

Re: Tony Marshall and Voxson
The library idea for large and cumbersome 8 track cartridges was brilliant! However, the Shell marketing chaps made the right decision but for the wrong reasons. They were completely wrong about the popularity of in car entertainment but I wonder if they foresaw the adoption of the then new Phillips...

Re: Jensens on the Common
Kevin, that is such a shame. The car looks great, apart from the fairly serious looking dislocated wheel & half shaft!
What happened? Did you get home ok?
Hopefully see you there next year - third time lucky!

Jensens on the Common
some shots of the Jensen's I spotted at the Classics on the Common show at Harpenden yesterday. It was a good show, despite the somewhat wet and blustery weather. Apologies to any Jensen's I might have missed. Note the 'Jensen-Nearly', penultimate image. 1 healey.jpg 2 541.jpg 3 Interceptor.jpg 4 In...

I remember it being dramatic at the time, but it was a long time ago! Possibly I was holding something metal and there were sparks flying...You would not even notice 12V running through your body!!

Re: Motorola 818 Radio - Jensen
Reminds me of when I was 17 and someone bought me a snazzy Harry Moss cassette player (negative earth) for my old Mini (positive earth). Keen to try it out, I mounted it on rubber grommets under the dash, isolating if from the car, and wired it directly to the battery posts. All good until - yes, yo...
