Idle quality

Hi all, i am facing some challenges to come to a nice idle in my MkIII. Stock 1974 440 engine beside Weiand dual plane intake and Edelbrock 750 (1411) carb. Carb has very low mileage (~ 2000 mls) and is freshly cleaned, float level ok, no air leaks at flange intake/carb. Car starts and runs generall...

Engine shipment US > EU

i might get a nice 500 cid stroker shortblock in the US (Florida). Any recommendation or experience available how to ship this lump to Germany? Time is not an issue as the current engine is ok. How much will this cost - door to door or port to port- roughly? Is there any vehicle shipper who might ad...

No, the engine is (nearly) acceptable but the appearance of the modification of the front and back light is - well - let´s say strange.

ignition timing/ distributor spec 1974 engine

Hi all, my MkIII has a 1974 (4c-series) engine with distributor 3755518 which is the correct one following the parts catalogue. In the owner´s manual the recommended static timing is 5° bTDC (not 10° like most of the other 440 engines). Does anybody have the distributor spec regarding advance cur...

Hi all, i just bought some Autolite 85 in the states (advance autoparts). I never saw sooo poorly manufactured plugs till now. They were "made in China" (stated on the box) and looked worse than expected: excentric ceramic isolators, no even gap between electrodes because they are not weld...

Hi Chris, recently i also had to pull my pan from the engine (also MkIII/4c engine). Pan was VERY hesitant to come off. As it was scrap anyway i did not care too much and used precision tools like a 1500gr hammer and some tyre mounting levers. Even with this stuff it was not an easy game. After this...
