Re: 2240/9346
Yes, Voxson and Driver's door mirror, and the car was invoiced from the factory on Jan 9th, 1974, presumably to Wilmslow Motors, although Calver's does not show the original reg number.

Re: Jensen SP
I remember showing a potential customer round the factory who asked me why he should consider buying an SP instead of an Interceptor. I suggested that if performance was key to any decision, then he should consider the SP, especially if he might be thinking of an Aston or Ferrrari, for example. 'Kno...

Re: Henry Coopers Mk1 Int
Probably a story that most will know, but on one occasion Henry, his brother (same size and build) and Henry's manager were leaving the family's shop with Henry driving (not sure if it was the Jensen) when he failed to see a passing car and nearly collided with it. The driver was furious and threate...

Re: D Type OKV1
The book is indeed a fascinating read ... and a good laugh from page to page :D On the othe hand a small correction to the above : The car in which Duncan and Rolt won the 1953 Le Mans 24h in was not a D Type , but a C type Jaguar ... The D type only came in 1955  To whet the appetite a littl...

D Type OKV1
Nice picture in the latest mag of the Duncan Hamilton/Tony Rolt 1953 Le Mans winner, prompts me to recommend Duncan's Autobiography entitled 'Touch Wood' to anybody who has not read it. It conveys the spirit of motor racing post war years all too clearly, and his life as a Navy pilot, who had alloca...

Re: MOT exemption consultation result
The moral is clear, this car was road legal but thoroughly dangerous because the owner did not understand how to look after it. I suspect that there are hundreds of similar cases in this country. Very good point Tony, but I take issue with your phrase "road legal". When I drove it and for...

Re: MOT exemption consultation result
Here is what can easily happen when compulsory MOTs for old vehicles is withdrawn: Fifteen years ago I had a 1958 Minor Traveller, completely restored by myself (interior and some minor electrics) and body work by national Minor specialists Charles Ware. A neighbour fell in love with the car and I s...

Re: A Jensen GT project - what to do?
Hello Nem, Depending on how much the car 'stand you in at', recent price increases for Jensens, as Helen says, means that the gap between restoration costs and current values makes the restoration more viable, even for J-Hs. Looking in my garage I see around 50 small boxes of 'bits' left over from t...

Re: HEA4K.
Comparing 4 wheel drive with 2 wheel, let alone almost twenty years difference in age and development is hardly relevant!
I believe you favour changing the front wheel alignment from toe-in to parallel? Not what was intended.
