Re: Andy Hamblin's Healey

Interesting your early car has a wood effect dash as well. I'm told my August '72 Healey shouldn't have wood effect but it has. Kevin, I erm, tarted it up a bit! The radio/heater panel had a very dull looking wood effect veneer but the glovebox and lights/hazard switch panels were black. I bought a...

Re: Abingdon Air and Country Show 2018

Gorgeous weather, great company, fab cars and fantastic air display. Perfect. My first at a JOC event, made to feel at home from the outset. Thanks all, great to meet you.

Brilliant pics Shaun & Dave, especially the shots of that remarkable bi-plane shadowing the E-Pace along the runway at 85mph.

Re: MW

Applaud the concept, but don't think they have got execution quite right. Reminds me a bit of the Honda Beat & Suzuki Cappuchino from a few years ago. Small, nimble, cute and economical.

Got to be a concept worth developing?

Re: Viz Top Tip Now Reality - Anyone Done It?

How is it so relatively cheap? The material itself can't cost a lot less than the paint would and I would guess probably costs more. Then the labour effort must be similar if its done well, which on those cars it looks like it has been. A definite alternative for those who aren't sure, just to try a...

Re: Abingdon Air and Country Show 2018

Put me and HNX 300K on the list please Shaun. Its got a very noisy clutch release bearing at the moment, but I'm an Abingdon boy so only a mile to travel. Hopefully It'll be fixed in time, if not, bring ear defenders :D

The Rover 3.5 P6 estate caught my eye - is that a factory car or a third party conversion?

I'm feeling pedantic  Lawrence only has one "a"? Is the second A an initial perhaps?

Also, an anagram typically has a meaning, not just a rearrangement of letters

I'm no engineer Barrie, but I would guess that it is as much to do with its fundamental design, i.e. resonance reducing structures and materials in its construction, rather than just add-on soundproofing?

could be, also materials technology and manufacturing tolerances are much better than they used to be - that has to help.

Re: Classic cars on the road

having driven numerous cars from that era it amazes me how many drive like old cars. I am not sure when it changed but cars like a Morris Minor drive like an old car yet a MK3 Cortina drives like a modern. Steve very interesting point Steve. My Mk1 Healey feels modern compared to the TR6 I had befo...

Re: Cars you have a hankering for...

I'd love one of these, an original Fiat X1/9 1300. Fiat X19 1300 (1).jpg not many left now, most have rotted away. Plenty of the later 1500's with the ugly US bumpers, which is the version I had way back. Sublime handling little car. I can't get so excited about the 1500, it went better than the 130...
