Re: Ultra Low Emission Zone - London

This is complete and utter BS. NOTHING to do with emissions - it's just a way of screwing another chunk of change out of the motorist. Not only is my Interceptor Exempt (based on its taxation class apparently), but so are both my 600+hp Mercedes, and my 700hp Corvette (which also only carries two pe...

Re: New Owner - Hello

Hi Martin I wouldn't like to stand in the way of your friend taking your 'spare', as I am coming around to going 'full retro' rather than something more 'modern' - especially as I can go and hear that one before I buy (as he is only 5 minutes away) - and there seems to be a good choice (if I ignore ...

Re: New Owner - Hello

Thanks chaps - I'm going to have to give this some proper thought - this one was flagged to me by Francis, and he's only just down the road from me and has said I can see it working before buying it https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-RADIOMOBILE-12VOLT-M-104-STEREO-8-TRACK-PLAYER-MW-LW-RADIO-WITH-MP...

Re: New Owner - Hello

That looks nice, John - do you have a link for the unit? (I actually have the magnetic pad already on the side of the centre console for the (Dictaphone (sp?)) microphone :0)

Re: New Owner - Hello

I'm pretty sure I'll go with the retro option, but rest assured I'll keep the 'home fires burning'* here in the 'Borough. :0)

*the burble of V8s anyway.

Re: Chassis/VIN Number

Thank you so much - I see from your post above that it is 2240 (I got a bit punch drunk trying to decipher the Richard Calver Numbers :0)

Re: Chassis/VIN Number

Thanks Chris - I probably should have said that I've read through Richard Calvers site, https://www.richardcalver.com/article_int3ghj.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and that suggests 136/1835 (possibly a Series J?) but it also seems it's a MK4? Or is that the same thing...

Chassis/VIN Number

A quick question: I know my Chassis number (SIII Mk4) is 1835. But all chassis numbers I've seen seem to take the form xxx/1835 - how do I find out the first 3 numbers, and what do they represent? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Re: New Owner - Hello

Great stuff Greg, enjoy the car, looks great in that blue. Dunc’s description will have been spot on, he really knows these cars. I think Jason looks after Mark Capehorn’s white convertible. Another top bloke that knows his Jensen’s. Looks like you will be in good company. Enjoy Duncan was an absol...

Re: New Owner - Hello

- 110mph indicated on M25 no problem () I am sure you misread your speedo and meant 69.99 MPH. at 110 you get a certificate. Hahaha!! Exactly - I have SO many endorsements on my licence - they must think I'm really good :0) OR, no, no officer, the cable must need lubing - it only said ...

New Owner - Hello

Have realised a long-held dream and bought a SIII Mk4 - Chassis 1835. I have wanted one since I was about 10 and had a ride in a mate's dad's FF. It has always been right car/wrong money or vice versa. I think I have found the ideal combination, as it was EXACTLY as Dunc described it. I can happily ...
