Why are the pre HEs better? I rather like the HE facelift versions from about 1982. Got a bit more chrome on the bumpers - never liked the all black bumpers much, and a bit of wood on the inside which is nice. All feels a little more thoughtful put together. The early XJS are too much British Leyla...

Re: Glaffy's bought another car!

But it's not a Jensen! Isn't this the most magnificent early X-JS? >>>>>snip<<<< "I know the car is rare, but I'm going to be using it as my daily driver. I'm giving it the full cavity wax treatment to ensure it doesn't disintegrate." Good on ye Glaffy! My two daily drivers are an XJ-S (a...

Why not an FF Ole? '69 with punch enough and prodigius grip. With the picky ways of Johan it will be a good car.

I'm interested to know what happened to the cars listed above that are not still i Sweden: 119/045, 119/091, 119/134, 119/176, 127/219, 127/243, 127/267, 127/269, 127/274, 127/276, 127/291 & 127/303. Three of these cars (MK11:s) are most likely the two I know of with Interceptor numbers and the...

VFK44 wrote:Probate? (1 word)
Probate is either the proof of genuineness of a will, or the jurisdiction of probating wills and administering wills. Dödsbo is the subject itself, governed by a will when such exist. Thus the dödsbo is the estate, while still formally in the ownership of the deceased.

Robert, do you know which one Sten J. had registered under JOE 361 in '79, supposedly a 1971 Mk. II? Medium blue with a hint of green/grey with light beige/cream interior. There was an article in the April '79 issue of "Wheels" with Sten showing the car and telling about it. It would be in...

Am I correct in remembering that Hell is actually just north of Trondheim? I seem to remember passing through during some jazz festival (hence the memory being a little bit of a blur  ). It is not really the type of place name one forgets in a hurry, a shame really as it was actually a really ...

I don't know the engine no.. The number is hiding under some of the ancilliaries. Oddly enough the service manual with supplementary chapters do not describe the Marelli system before model year '92. That system may be integrated a bit more with the FI, but is still has the ignition ECU and the Igni...

Maybe that is why Barries brov is selling it. A slight change of subject here. Who know what is the fastest car officially in reverse? There is no trick to this but I will give Jens a clue ITS BRITISH :D Steve No, methinks it isn't (wasn't) : The DAF 66 (?) with Variomatic was as fast in reverse as...

'90 XJ-S 5.3 with catalytics and Marelli ignition, sold new in Norway. AFAIK late '89 - mid '91 the only V12 with this spec. (I didn't post more details than what you saw in the subject heading because it would be unlikely that you knew the answer anyway if you needed further details .....)

OFF: Jag V12 ignition, Marelli modules

All, after giving in and ordering a new module, only to find out that it was currently not on stock, I dug further into the theme of ignition modules. (And of pinking/pinging in Marelli ignition XJ-S.) 1) Using 99 octane is enough to do away with the pinging. 2) Pinging seems to be a problem in gene...

1969 FF for sale in Norway

Owner deceased, so car is for sale. 1969, was generally improved step by step over the 9 years he had it. During the past two years mostly standing still due to his illness. Bonnet repaired (he was not happy with the fit) so presently only in primer. Some rust at the rear end of the hatch, only rust...

Jents, there were people taking pictures, in many locations. Even a local newspaper turned up in one place. Unfortunately I haven't seen anything published yet. I'll post if I find any.
