Re: NEC Restoration Show Birmingham - 18 -20 March 2022

Was hoping to make it this year on Friday but work seems to have had other ideas and so have had to comply with that instead of changing to suit my visit to the show.

Hope everyone has a great time and look forward to the pictures !!!!

Re: Another Mk2 Interceptor project on ebay

Was thinking full hazmat suit judging by the interior and I note the air con is missing which was fitted to the car on manufacture.

Re: Another Mk2 Interceptor project on ebay

Car is a July 1970 Mk 2 - chassis number: 123/3833 and engine 3185/123E as advised by the vendor. which matches Richard Calvers records. Originally Silver Grey with a ex. factory registration of BME 6. If anyone wants me to have a look at it and take pictures I can.

Re: Another Mk2 Interceptor project on ebay

This car was highlighted to me yesterday by John Pym as it is in the next town to me. The guy who is selling it along with two other rust buckets which I think are MG's is coming back to me tomorrow with the chassis number. I'll post up any other details but the front bumper looks more 50's American...

Re: Preliminary notice - JH 50th alternative event planning

Sounds like a plan is coming together very well now. It will depend on which weekend and if it is a weekend or just a day before Lindsey and I can commit due to work and other commitments already in the diary.

Re: Preliminary notice - JH 50th alternative event planning

First of all, we can't go to IOM event as Lindsey hates ferries and also we are due to do the NC 500 with 15 other mixed bag classics at the same time so that was out, so sorry for the lack of support that way. For suggestions then a possible venue in the Blenheim area, could be Eynsham Hall which h...

Re: Preliminary notice - JH 50th alternative event planning

One of the stops / points of meeting could be Caffeine & Machine which is close to Gaydon and very popular with car enthusiasts. https://caffeineandmachine.com/ Maybe they might be willing to do something for the 50th over a weekend time to also encourage others to visit. Do we have a period whe...

Re: Show

I have been to the NEC today for a different show and just wanted people to know that to enter the NEC via the Train station or the normal car parks, you have to show proof of vaccination - NHS app or copy certificates otherwise you will have to pay for a lateral flow test which is then done then, j...

Re: SAGA

A little odd that the DVLA says it's a maroon Jensen on the registration number AWA 300G Yes they have issues, my green interceptor is a CV8 according to them and until last year was red, although it still carries it original paint and has never been re-sprayed. One too many click down boxes and th...

Christmas Function ???

There hasn't been much going on in this region for obvious reasons and also that there still is no regional rep. I have been asked if I would arrange some sort of Christmas get together - from a group meal somewhere, another cruise ship ( not this time, sorry) or a option of a meal and overnight. Be...

Re: Hampton Court Concours Sat Sep 4th

It was a great day out and thank you David and Janet for organising it for the club. It was a long day trip for us but well worth it. I have lots of phots of the cars on the day, probably too many for the forum and so if anyone would like to have some phots, then I will happily send them by WeTransf...

Re: Sp V5

In a vast majority cases it is pot luck if it is right or not - some will be SP other maybe something else. All down to the change to digital records and the dropdown boxes not being selected properly by the munchkins in VOSA / DVLA. Several cases that I know of that a Morris minor being registered ...
