Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Indeed, though there can be no doubt that the climate is changing far faster than geological causes alone. And whilst legislation such as various clean air acts had seen fewer toxic gasses released into the atmosphere, they've done nothing to reduce carbon dioxide emissions which have, and still are...

Re: Interceptor FF
The Viperceptor looks far more coherent to me too. I dare say that if one had the resources available, JIA could make a standard looking car with the revised mechanicals. The question for me is, what place will such restomod cars have in say 10 years time, when they're then neither classic nor moder...

Interceptor FF
Just in case this hasn't been posted here an Interceptor FF is now available. The rear wheels are driven by a GM V8, and the fronts by an electric motor each. Though completely academic for me as I sadly don't have anything like the recources available to consider one, but such restomods don't appea...

I assume you mean "True or False", in which case, thankfully the fake news story is / was merely click bait. It's false. https://croatian.leadstories.com/hoax-alert/2024/02/fact-check-eu-does-not-plan-to-ban-repair-of-cars-older-than-15-years.html https://factcheck.afp.com/doc.afp.com.3472...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Apologies Colin, I thought your question was rhetorical. But if I were in the market for a new car, it would 100% be electric. So much much better to drive, so much more convenient, so much easier. I've no interest in converting classics to electric - I'm not really into the resto-mod thing at all -...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
My enjoyment of an EV is not based on anything 'woke' (which, incidentally means "enlightened") but, as I have repeatedly stressed, is entirely on its driving characteristics and convenience which i have thoroughly enjoyed over 45,000 miles; a convenience which, again, I have stressed I re...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Jesus wept. Colin, the point I made, which you somehow managed to miss, was that we need to move away from fossil fuels, be that to power our cars or generate our electricity. Only then will we increase our control, our stability, our security because as we have so clearly seen in just the last coup...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
At i said in my post above, I've always based my enthusiasm for the EV on its driving merits Colin.
That post must've been something else that you missed whilst only choosing to see things that fit your narrative.

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
I quite agree. And your post perfectly illustrates why things have to change and our reliance on fossil fuels needs to reduce, for our economic security and political benefit if nothing else. Recent global events have shown just how very vulnerable we currently are. If we want increased control, inc...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
Whilst we should indeed care about how our electricity is generated and where it comes from, should we not also care about the source of the petrol, diesel and other fossil fuels upon which we so depend? Our reliance on it puts us at the mercy of other nations and regimes to supply it to us, many of...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
... Tree planting is being encouraged Colin. Perhaps, as something of a climate change / reality denier, you have a tad too much rose tint in your glasses, as it appears you not seen the news and the recent protests of farmers who, in order to continue to receive govt subsidies, must give 10% of the...

Re: Electric vehicles (split from Quentin Willson's hot tips)
As a car fan, I've always tried to convey that the enthusiasm I have for driving an EV is based on exactly that - driving.
