Re: Ultra Low Emission Zone - London

Whatever happened to Bio diesel? I used to use it all the time until it became popular, then they increased the price to over the cost of normal diesel and it disappeared.

Re: Ultra Low Emission Zone - London

Apparently, black and silver plates are not picked up on those lovely covert car park cameras, so buy and drive a historic vehicle!. It makes more economical sense to keep a car for a lifetime than getting a new one every 3 years that is using vast amount of energy and natural recources just to make...

Re: Buying a Healey

Buy on condition rather than the model, a structurally good Mk1 will always be better than a rough Mk2. Most of the issues with the early cars will have been sorted by now anyway.

Re: Restoration-Started!

I don't see why not, they supply all the fixings, you just have to cut the bars to length and drill the holes where you need them to go.

I'm very impressed with it, especially for the money!

Re: Restoration-Started!

I bought the spit- check out Roll and Restore. Its proper old school stuff, heavy and functional. It works really well, though is a little strenuous to turn as the centre of gravity on a cv8 is not where a 'normal' car would be. You do need decent headroom for it, though they do make a lower profile...

Re: Healey-- BOUGHT!!

There are red traces under where the blue paint has chipped off in the engine bay, the earliest record of it being blue is from an mot test back in 1992, so the photo is from before then. A previous owner was a member of the JOC back in 1998, number 7415. I would love to know the history pre1982, wh...

Re: Healey-- BOUGHT!!

It is 10462, where was this picture taken? Does anyone know? According to my paperwork, the previous owner was from Lowestoft who has had it for over 10 years. I have mot's etc dating to 1980 and it has always been a uk car.

Weird.

Re: Healey-- BOUGHT!!

Its all new to me, how does the mk2 engine differ? The previous owner told me it has been lightly modified but I don't know to what extent. It all seems pretty clean in the engine bay.

Re: Healey-- BOUGHT!!

Okay, first thing, the paint code is GL 35786. I've looked under the dash etc, and it appears original. What is the colour please? I can't seem to find the code listed anywhere.

Cheers, Tim
