Re: 440 J series - low compression left side head

Sounds like the chufferty chufferty was the manifold gaskets. The Berrymans wouldn't fix valve recession etc. It would be interesting to know if Berrymans fixed the low compression on those two cylinders by freeing stuck rings.

You would get an FF up there Kev, spot on with that. There seems to be another road with disabled access. No charging point for EV's though.

Re: AUH 98L Green and Purple Mk 3

I like this car a lot, and at £6 or £7K I would have been tempted, but may have passed on it. I would have gone into it knowing it was not economic to bring it to a much higher standard, I would have checked out the front suspension to make sure it was OK after the smash, and tried to use it as a dr...

Re: Looking for a good paint job

My belief/understanding: The green horn push and maching green wheel centres were factory fitment on earlier FFs. The blue badge and wheel centers were reserved for the top model at the time the FF and when that was discontinued they were carried over to the new top model the SP. The blue badges and...

"give it a tug until it hoes green!" :D You can adjust the thickness of the green band and zoom in on a particular part of the body. Not my picture. All the comparison and shading tools are tried and tested over the last decade or more and are available and work. These have been used in t...

Re: INt SP on Collecting Cars auction site

We are getting close to the point where 3D scans of cars can be done at home. We are not there yet but close. I would like to collect scans of cars, and archive them by chassis number. You can then scan your car and see which panels are from what phase of production, or what supplier, or simply wher...

Re: INt SP on Collecting Cars auction site

Interesting comment about the reserve briefly being not met. That explains the auction not saying no reserve. You expect bargains at auction. It is difficult and time consuming to sell a Jensen for good money. Every 3 to 4 months there is at least one “bargain” like this. Cannonball’s FF, Peter’s FF...

Look at this one Tim Man..I know you would have seen this pic before anyway but https://joc.org.uk/smiles/big_standart/nyam2.gif >>> >> S4 Convert RHD.jpg That red one above Grant is so spot on panel wise. What a fantastic photo. It looks really good. It reminds me of going to Cropredy in the 1990s...

Re: 1987 S4 Int convertible on Car and Classic auction site

Of course these cars should be selling for that amount of money but right now they are not. Big price with very few pictures. Needs to be a total restoration for that money. :) Interesting history and a rare car, few owners and good provenance! Difficult markets do bring some special and interestin...

Re: Interceptor 3 Project for Sale, Bargain - SOLD

Congratulations Andi! To be honest I was a bit confused as to why you hadn't bought it immediately. The car gets to move to a very picturesque part of Switzerland, what could be better! Great excuse for a technical meeting soon! Paint and body prep would be an interesting topic!

Re: Wiper Spindle Repair

I have no experience of this at all, but first thought, could you drill a hole at the join of the two along the axis of the shaft and tap in a roll pin? Alternatively 2nd thought, you could drill at 90 degrees to the axis of the shaft and put a pin through that way instead.

Re: INt SP on Collecting Cars auction site

I was thinking exactly the same Tim, even, especially down to the 15" dove grey's. Someone pointed out to me that the larger callipers and discs would need downsizing to original to take 15"s. The original brakes are fantastic when properly serviced. It would be interesting to compare this...

Re: INt SP on Collecting Cars auction site

Nice to see it has a beautiful original Jensen trimmed interior and an original steering wheel. So easy as a buyer to add your steering wheel of choice and move it from car to car and no one can complain about a perfect original one where it should be when you decide to sell. t is a better time to b...

Re: SV8

Thanks Rocky. Yes fabulous engine. Almost too powerful. Lovely deep throated sound and a very unstressed engine. The gearbox is one of the best I’ve ever used. It is really fantastic to see you car pictures, especially given the above SMarley. I went to the British Motor Show in 1998 and saw the St...
