Re: First Registration number ?
All the requirements are on the government website. Look for document V765/1 which includes the address (mine) who authorises an application.

Re: First Registration number ?
To get a plate re-assigned to a car it requires a V765 application supported by the club. The club offers this support as a free service to members.paul gulliver wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 12:24 pm
I have asked if the EWP17J plate is available to reunite to the car.

Re: Insuring Electric Cars.
As Mr Toad says, there does seem to be a lot of anti-EV hype around at the moment. The Sun ran an article (or stole it) where it claimed an EV driver had been stranded "in the middle of nowhere", "and the problems didn't stop there". Turned out that, for an online article, he ha...

Re: Fergusson Formula FF get together 2024
Being derived from the Triumph 2000 the Stag engine bay was designed for a straight 6 engine so there was enough space to accommodate the front drive without modifying the body. The only real differences are a lump taken out of the floor next to the transmission tunnel to take the front propshaft an...

Re: Fergusson Formula FF get together 2024
I met the owner of one of the FF Triumph Stags at the Stonor Park event just a week ago. Presumably he (Bill Munro) will know how to contact him?

Re: Carrozzeria Touring
I don't think the timeline stacks up on this question with Monteverdi. Kevin Beattie and others at Jensen were exploring design opportunities in Italy in late 1965 and very early in 1966. By early March 1966 they had agreed with Ghia, Touring and Vignale for them to submit design ideas and a C-V8 wa...

Re: Carrozzeria Touring
I'm not sure what the crown on the Touring badge represents, if anything, but the image in the V of Vignale is symbolic of the Mole Antonelliana, a historic landmark in Turin.

Re: 440 J series - low compression left side head
As far as I know the 440 J series were designed for unleaded fuels from the outset, as I think at that time it was already mandated in California, which should eliminate valve seat recession due to fuels.

Re: Carrozzeria Touring
It's a well documented story. In a nutshell, at the time Touring were on the verge of bankruptcy. Jensen bought the original design outright from Touring and then promptly took them, with origin markings removed, along to Vignale who had also been asked to submit a design idea. Vignale quite probabl...
