Re: Kingpins 541S, CV8, Mk 1 Interceptor as used on A110
"It is after all not unknown for Int mk 1 kingpins to shear " Re. 541 cars,I have never heard of a kingpin shearing off, but have seen more than one stub axle break. As for the 541S or CV8, the kingpin is larger in diameter, so even less chance of shearing I would think. Has anyone out the...

Re: Bill Boddy's Jensen book
If that was Bill Boddy who recently lived in Belgium, I sold a 541 in the 80's to him. (LEA 901, one of the first few cars). The car had not been on the road for some time, but he jumped in it and drove straight back to Belgium, with no problems. He was a very nice chap and he contacted my quite rec...

Re: Jensen PW covertible (FEA334) for sale again in germany
As I understand it, the current owners had started to strip it out prior to restoration and I believe all the "missing" dash parts are with the car. I had best be careful next time I walk past my PW with a jig-saw in my hand. Thoughts of a convertible conversion project had crossed my mind...

Web Sites.
I would like to know if common sense is ever used when updating web-sites? Am I the only person who gets frustrated with the lack of any thought to make the sites more user friendly ? I hasten to add that I have no problems with the JOC site, but I am refering to professional sites. For instance, I ...

Re: DS7 541R for sale - restoration project
Regarding the question "are prototypes a good or bad proposition", They are sometimes bad news as the best details of a model will be changed and added at a later date. When I owned the 541 alloy bodied prototype, many parts were different to the standard model which made life very tricky ...

Re: 541 V12?
It would be interesting to know how they got the tyre clearance for the rear wheels. There is around 1" between the tyre and rear springs on a 541 or 541R when 5" wires are fitted, and they quote wheel width of 10" !! Front wheels arches would also be a serious problem. Anyone know ho...

Re: HEARTBREAKING NEWS OF FOUNDER MEMBER
I still can't believe the news and can't get it off my mind. I first met Dick in the 70's at the first JOC meetings. Dick owned a beautiful 541R that was as original as they come and had never been messed about with as a lot of them have been. Dick was the JOC social secretary in the early days whic...

Re: Members only area on forum> is one needed?
To put the record straight, I feel that the latest posts are going off track. The original suggestion was to have an extra heading in the forum purely for JOC members so that questions or ideas can be voiced without being locked out before any thoughts had been elaborated on. A totally locked forum ...

To Whom it may concern: I recently started a post under the heading “Magazine” and to my surprise I and any other forum members were prevented from adding any useful comments to my original post as the post was locked out !! Now as it states under the General Heading, any subject may be aired and as...

Can anyone tell me the cost per copy of the JOC magazine ?
How many copies are sent out per year?
Any ideas where I am going with this ?

Re: Scams.
The address in St.Andrews is an empty shop !! Found this out by going onto Google Earth and then "street view".
It's in the hands of the police and Barclay's bank now but I doubt if the outcome will be favorable.

Scams.
A good friend of mine, who lives in Italy, saw an advert in Craig's List (a site like Ebay) for a gearbox to fit his pre-war MG. He contacted the seller and got full details and asked if the seller would do the deal through Paypal. Seller replied and said no, but he would send his bank details. The ...
