Re: Classic Car Extravaganza at Newport & Ryde, Isle of Wigh

Chris,
You can go for one or both days, but I suspect that the event is now full.
I suggest that you contact Victor Gallucci for more information.
Regards,
John.

Not so happy news. Richard Calver's databook shows 1140/11331 was completed on 13/02/1973, so just misses out on tax exemption. Engine number is shown as A73.01.1644, original colour yellow.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
John.

Ian,
There are lots of nice places to live within easy commuting distance of Gosport, with a wide range of house prices. I live about 12 miles away, so if you are planning to look around the area and would like a local guide, please let me know.
Regards,
John.

Ian,
After several years of searching, I have recently bought a coachline from a JOC member in Bournemouth. Send me a PM and I will contact him for you.

My car was first registered in January 1973, but the ex-factory date in Richard Calver's book is November 1972. Alan Smith provided a letter stating that the car was known to the JOC, with a build date of November 1972 and after a few months and many phone calls to the DVLA, Historic Vehicle taxatio...

I second that - the Woolies kit is very good, they are helpful and keep black in stock. There is a special kit for Jensens with extra quantities to cater for all that leather.

David, Welcome to the Hampshire, Dorset & Wiltshire area of the JOC. The local area reps are Neil & Jan Cox, e-mail j.cox672@btinternet.com. They used to have a Healey and can let you know who the local owners are. I live in Bishops Waltham and have a red SP, LRO731L, which you may see aroun...

Losty,
The Woolies kit comes with a water based cleaner which does not appear to affect the colour. It is worth giving them a ring for advice, as I found them very helpful and the restorer worked very well on my car, which you saw at Lasham.

Hi, I managed to secure the original registration for my SP with just a current V5 (with an age related registration) and a letter from Alan Smith, which basically repeated the information in Richard Calver's book. It took several months and repeated phone calls to the DVLA before they let me speak ...
