Re: Buying an interceptor
Be brave. Money is dust. Adrenaline is everything. Proper Jensen should be bought from EBAY without seeing it. Backyardfinds preferred.

Re: Another Interceptor III surfaces after 26 years
Deterioration of properly garaged car is overestimated. If garage is dry, car placed on the blocks, free of fluids and battery it will not need huge repair even after 30 years in the storage. Especisally this old ladies with less electronic (not so much condensators etc)

Re: 115/2714 is back.
Ok, I use hardura from Woolies, which already been in my stock, and which sucks in terms of originality, BUT, after some weeks of waiting I got message from SMS Auto fabrics in USA, that they offer original "walrus skin" vinyl and thin "walrus skin" hardura. Just analog of 1 seri...

Re: FF at auction
Regarding air conditioner - it became optional on the very many US cars in the middle of fifties (for example, all Buick has it as option) and in the middle of sixties it was optional on the most of European middle class cars - I owned /8 mercedes 450S which had this etc. Not all motorists ordered i...

Re: FF at auction
I saw how Rejen fitted air conditioner on Mk1 for customer`s order. There is room under bonnet for fitting compressor, so no problem with this. For me, Mk1 will always have big advantage over Mk2-3 because its design is more 60ties than 70ties, also I like it interior with central switch panel, rost...

Re: FF at auction
And another thing, I afraid price rise for FF was too sharp -
from 19.990 in 2010 to 125.000 in 2015 for particularly same car (no significant investments mentioned during this period) - its 160 000 eur. For 70ties closed body GT.

Re: FF at auction
My opinion is because its probably period wrong shade for early 70ties. Dark blue metallic (just THIS shade of current FF), or cherry metallic were very popular colors in the end of 80ties-beginning of 90ties. At the top of previous classic car market boom. Many classic vehicles were restored in thi...

Re: 115/2714 is back.
Well, first of all - I was not originality sucker when I bought this. I did a lot of mistakes with my other classics, before I decided not to molest my cars with wrong restorations. Now I am originality anorak, thats truth. But Dion, I better will not to tell all awful decisions which I did before. ...

Re: 115/2714 is back.
Well, here we are. Actually, photo showing completely wrong color, but in reality its EXACTLY the same shade like Pontiac GTO has on the previous picture (paint was made by original 1968 GM/Dupont "mariner turquoise" formula and 100% same as on original paint swotch). But camera + flash + ...

Re: Interceptor w/o power steering. How many were made?
I think, that power steering became standart much earlier. Probably somewhere in 27XX. It wast prior so called "1+" improvements. Another distinctive changes of 1+ gen. : - different ashtrays - lack of plugs on door cards - lack of vent windows - different power window switches - smaller f...

Re: Does anybody have R.Calver, Chassis Database book?
Times were different - 3500 bought Interceptor those days, and 35 bought the book. Somebody are willing to sell, yes: http://www.amazon.co.uk/history-Jensen-chassis-data/dp/0646035630/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1457478541&sr=8-3&keywords=Richard+Calver" onclick="window.open(this.hr...

Interceptor w/o power steering. How many were made?
I know, that until certain time, power steering was an option on Interceptor.
Howewer, most people ordered it.
How many cars left factory w/o PS?
And starting from which serial number PS became standart?
P.S. I know, I need to buy Mr.Calver book, I already understood that I need it.
