Re: Is there Facel Vega people on JOC forum?

Well, I am now very close to my Interceptor restoration finish, and I realize that with my current incomes and it market price I probably will not drive this car more than some dozens miles per year. Simply too expensive toy. Luckily I have 7 other classic cars so, there is the choice anyway. With F...

Re: Is there Facel Vega people on JOC forum?

Regarding old tires.
I never drive my classics over 60 mph, and thus on very good straight empty road.
Choose empty countryside road, keep 40 mph and be safe.

Re: Is there Facel Vega people on JOC forum?

That`s right. It will not be an easy thing. It might take 3-5 years to complete it. And deep pockets... Bad issue is the lack of specific knowledge and uneven standard of restoration in Estonia, to be honest. For Jensen it was great help JOC forum, visits to JOC International with thousands of photo...

In the light of Jensen Interceptor recreation.

The guy in the Moscow recreating Volvo 1800, also made by Jensen. Looks lovely for me. Too much plastic and somehow not enough attention to details, but its question of choice. By the way - after ruble devalvation, Russia became good source of everything from industrial supplies to pure handmade thi...

Re: surviving Mk1s

You right, Dion. Its wrong to make quick conclusions. All what I did - checked Mk1 site, wooden inserts are found on all but one Vignale cars. By the way, basing on Mk1 site, Vignale and Sincar cars had different wooden facia in comparison with W.Bromwich cars. http://www.joc.org.uk/Interceptor_Mk_1...

Re: Diamond pattern hood insulation.

Well, dear all.

Christian was right. In my october 1967 parts catalogue this D-shaped profiles mentioned for bonnet insulation as DELETED.

So, probably, it was feature of very early Vignale cars.

Re: Buying an interceptor

Previously I bought two classic S-class Mercedeces on ebay, one 450S W108 from Germany and other 450SEL W116 from Italy. 108 was generally good deal (from Mainheim), 5500 eur, you will not got any similar condition t this price. So, that was GOOD deal. Photos were mediocre, but in reality car was be...
