Re: Vehicle Tax

Hi PUS212P As I understand it if you can show your car was built before Jan 76 you should be able to re register as historic after April 1st but not before. I did this last year at a Post Office by taking the V5. If you can do without the car for a month (March) I would register it as SORN at the en...

Re: Someone has not checked the survivor's website

Last Sunday I joined my local car club for Sunday lunch at Carnforth Station in the Brief Encounter museum. After lunch the two speakers were a gentleman who has restored Erics old Rolls Royce having found it rotting away in a scrap yard and also Erics chauffeur who recounted his days driving the In...

Re: My Early Mk3 Interceptor Restoration project

Hi Pymmie
I'm not surprised the car felt a lot better after all the work. How did it pass it's MOT in Sept. with all that wear and broken spring? or am I missing something? Seems to fail on slightly misaligned headlights was a minor problem.
Graham.

Re: Farewell to my SP!

If you want to know how many SPs are left why not ask the club's SP (and Interceptors Variants) registrar, Tim Clark.

I did that when I provided details of my convertible, unfortunately no response!

Re: Devon & Cornwall Tour Fri 25th - Sun 27th September 2015

Safely back home last night with 1167 enjoyable miles added to the clock. I agree with the other posts, thanks to John etc. a smashing weekend. Great to see such a great number attending makes all the work worthwhile. It was a bit of a shock this morning to wake up to a frost, ice on the sheep water...

Re: Not a Convertible Interceptor 1970 123/3967

I think the problem is there is no soft top, what would it cost to make a top and modify the body and windows?

"Regular dry weather driving only as last job to do,,,Requires
complete soft top,(New hood frame can be sourced locally)"

Lakeland Motor Museum for me aswell; then a drive round the South Lakes area.
We're expecting a good display of all sorts at the museum from 10.00am. Hopefully some more Cumbrian members and North West.

Re: Classic car tax

Success today at the third attempt, for some strange reason the post office couldn't do it before today.
I shall spend the money saved on petrol, approx. 500 smiles!

Re: Classic car tax

Surprise surprise not is all as at first seemed, when I went to the post office yesterday they knew nothing about it. This is the reply from Swansea: The taxation class Historic Vehicle applies to any vehicle constructed before 1st January 1974. In addition, legislation was also introduced to exempt...

Classic car tax

It seems that the historic tax exemption has been rolled forward 2 years. All cars manufactured before Jan. 1st 1976 now qualify. All you have to do is take your V5 to a motor tax post office, marked Historic Vehicle in the change section and signed. Then fill in aV10 tax application form and any re...

Re: first jensen

Hi GT6 Welcome to convertible motoring. The hood frame has a lot of pivot points which cause a lot of strain on the mechanism, so its very important to keep them well lubricated. My fame broke once near where it joins the pistons and was a b.... to repair. Also make sure you have released the hood f...
