Re: In from the cold
Hi Colin, Just seen this. Can't imagine what you said, but nothing wrong in a little passion with your politics provided a modicum of restraint is incorporated. I am also passionate where politics are concerned but believe strongly that restraint must be one's guiding principle at all times. V...

Re: SRN4 Hovercraft to be destroyed?
What a tragic shame if this great machine is cut up.I went across the channel on one in 1983.As has been said above, the overriding memory was of how noisy it was. However,in every other aspect it was brilliant. I made a trip to the Hovercraft museum around ten years ago and the two SRN 4 hovercraft w...

Re: Mk III Interceptors full restored by the factory.
Thanks Paul.I'm clueless re all things computer! Dave Newby sent me the factory video which included my car up on a lifter being worked on.I have the complete parts & labour invoice totalling £44,000 from the Jensen Car Company. It was either a brave or very wealthy owner who went for this option...

Re: Mk III Interceptors full restored by the factory.
Hi Paul, You can add mine to the list.OHU 1M.Burgundy Mk III.If legend is to be believed, she was the final Interceptor to receive the re build treatment before JPS bit the dust. For pictures go to Car of the Month for Nov 2011 and interior, exterior and engine pictures are there. If I knew how to do it...

Sir Christopher Cockerell 541
Being as I am,a lifelong Hovercraft nut,I tuned into this YouTube clip and it's interesting opening sequence of the hovercrafts inventor,Sir Christopher Cockerell in his 541.

Re: Condensation/soot exhaust mixture - ideas to catch it?
Don't be cheap, employ a man to push said car out of your garage therefore negating the requirement to start your vehicle.
Seems blindingly obvious to me.
By the way, that wet soot mixture has a name.Sulphuric Acid!!

Re: Dave Newby
We saw Dave off on his final trip in fine fashion earlier today.A superb turnout from all over the country reinforced once again how much he was thought of by one and all.The only thing missing in fact was Herr Newby milling around, chatting, advising, laughing and generally being the huge presence we ...

Re: Is this car known - Int 3 BBK 101M
On further examination, those are the same mirrors as those on mine ie Aston Martin V8 from the 80's.I'd put money on that being an 80's Jensen Cars Re build.Interesting...

Re: Is this car known - Int 3 BBK 101M
That's an interesting Interceptor. It appears to have the S4 SD1 door handles and the larger Jaguar door mirrors rather than the smaller Aston V8 mirrors.Notice also the full length louvred SP bonnet. It has the look of a Jensen Cars rebuild from the 80's.It would be interesting to know what the inter...
