Jensen accountant

My sister knows the accountant who was with Jensen for a few years. He is on the committee of the camera club she is a member of.
Guess a lot of members would like to ask him a few searching questions ??

Re: Early Interceptor

There was a heavily modified one around at the time of the photo. (Beaulieu , second JOC rally.) The one I am thinking about was chromed all over the place, even the engine block had been chromed. Dave Barnet might remember the car. The owner at that time was a little eccentric may I say. I believe ...

Re: Dual car batteries.

The car in question is the Jensen PW. This was originally fitted with two 6 volt batteries in series and these did not put out enough power in my mind for the starter. I would have liked to replace the two small ones with one large 12 volt ,but problem there is that the battery has to be lowered thr...

Re: Jensen Factory postcard

All very interesting postings !! I remember going to the Jensen Parts & Service buildings in the 70's to a JOC open day. We passed the old factory and I remember seeing the prototype car (or cars) that was to take the place of the Interceptor. I think I remember seeing two of them ,side by side,...

Re: 1959 541R

Just checked some early records and the man in Paisley was George Richie and it was the same car that visited me in the 80's. So more than one owner methinks !!

Re: 1959 541R

Many years ago there was a chap in Paisley (close to Glasgow) who had a 541R and I am wondering if it is the same car. He drove it down to my place in Suffolk for stainless exhausts fitting. However, saying that, it looks like the tail pipes in the photo could be rusty ?? First owner listed as an Ia...

Re: 541 for sale needs restoration

Possibly a bit of a bitsa car. Looks like it has the early under- wings, but it has the later four bolt steering idlers. Perhaps an early car with a later chassis..

Radiator looks odd ? Not like any 541 I have ever seen. Perhaps not part of the car ?

Re: 541 R in Italy

A few small points. Rev. counter gearbox and cable missing. Core plugs look suspect. Breather pipe missing from rocker box. Engine bolts wrong way up. However the photo may have been taken before completion of restoration. Glad that the front indicators have been reinstated. Car looks good from the ...

Re: 541 at Oselli £48k

Hi Han, re. Girling, the particular one in photo was not original. Original type was the Clayton Dewandre, but later cars had the 6 7/8" type Girling with a hexagonal shaped rear cover as per 541R and S. The early Claytons tended to leak fluid a lot so a constant check was needed on the level i...

Re: 541 at Oselli £48k

I never had any problems with drum braked 541 cars and they got me out of serious trouble more than once!! They also normally pull up in a straight line when braking hard. There have been cases where owners have replaced the front brake shoes and fitted them in leading mode, as most cars are, instea...
