Re: PW for sale

Hi Grant, don't get me wrong, the 541S with the auto box is a very good comfortable car, I drove one back and forwards to London from Suffolk, many times in the 80's and never had any problems with it, but the manual box S would be an improvement of around an extra 10 mpg.

Re: PW for sale

I would also exchange the car with a near perfect 541, 541R or S manual with cash adjustment.

Shipping cellulose paint abroad

Has anyone had any experience in shipping cellulose paint from UK to Germany ?
Any companies who will do this.
There seems to be a lot of new regulations in force preventing this ?
Quantity involved is probably not more than 4 litres of paint and similar quantity of thinners.

PW for sale

At long last and after much thought,I am parting with my Jensen PW. This PW ,chassis no. 10 is one of only six left in the World that we know of. Current mileage is only 44,634 from new. This car was last on the road in the 1980's when I drove it for just a few miles. I found that the steering was s...

Re: 541R for sale

What was the purpose of the carbuncle on the HT lead ?
The prices of parts on some of the bills were amusing. All useful information and photos.
Exhaust pipes look to be perilously low in one of the photos. These will be ripped off the next time it goes on a trailer unless great care is taken.

Re: Early Interceptor at Morris Leslie auction

Hi Joerg, I see you also have the anti-clockwise rotating rev-counter. Same as my PW . A bit confusing when you are used to more modern ones, or even the 541. Years ago I had the good fortune to drive a convertible 4 litre Interceptor which at the time belonged to Cdr. Jimmy Boswell in Norwich.. A v...

Re: Early Interceptor at Morris Leslie auction

I wonder if the naval officer owner was commander P. Davis, who was the first owner of the prototype 541 ? (He was also in Sussex.)
Are there more dials on the dashboard than normal ?
Interesting car, with a good speed range I would guess.

Re: 541R for sale

That's interesting , Richard. I tried to trace the reg plate back in the 70's with the aim of getting it back on the prototype, which I owned at the time. I did find out that the R with the JEA 541 plate was languishing in a sorry state in a front garden of a house in the Croydon/Purley way area, bu...

CV8 Trim part ?

I came across this trim part for front sidelights and believe it is for early CV8 cars. (and some 50's Austin/BMC cars such as Cambridge.) It is surplus to requirements so if anyone wants to make me an offer, please PM me. It will need re-chroming, but its in good shape otherwise with no rust. (Coul...

Jensen accountant

My sister knows the accountant who was with Jensen for a few years. He is on the committee of the camera club she is a member of.
Guess a lot of members would like to ask him a few searching questions ??
