Re: 541 at H&H auction

I can see a 541 head and pistons/con-rods, but those engine blocks look almost pre-war ? Wonder what they are. Armstrong Siddeley ?
The all important front chrome moulding is there, so that is a bonus. Rev counter missing ? Left hand door ?

Re: 541 at H&H auction

What are the engines in the photo? They are certainly not 541./Austin.
Jaguar maybe ?
Gearboxes look correct for early 541.

Re: An interesting way to cheat

"Probably restored at the Morgan factory"
No don't think so, the wood was just wedged in place, not glued as per Morgan.
All I know, is that it was bodged up by someone in North East of UK.

Re: An interesting way to cheat

Sounds similar to a 541 R I worked on in the 80's. Previous owner/or seller had inserted shaped pieces of plywood into the rotten rear chassis and then covered it all over with fiberglass. See below. This is what I found after I removed the fiberglass. (The plywood can clearly be seen.) 016 Photo ga...

Re: 1970's JOC rally at Biggin Hill

I can't remember the year, but I believe Dave Horton was there and possibly another member flew in !! Would that have been Peter Adams ?
Be nice to see some photos. I am pretty sure I took my dark blue 541 that day.

1970's JOC rally at Biggin Hill

Has anyone got any photos of the JOC rally that was held at Biggin Hill in the 70's ?

Re: Plasti-Dip Paint

Plastidip is good product and I always have a can handy here for varies jobs. I first bought it to repair the rubber tyres on the drive wheels of vintage 45rpm record players and that worked fine, but I found that I had to build up the surface in thin layers until I had the thickness that I wanted, ...

541 Rear Bumper Joint Plates

I am going to produce a small batch of ten 541/R & S rear bumper joint plates. These are made in brass plate as per originals, but the Jensen motif is engraved, so will not vanish after a few re-chromes. Price is £80.00 plus postage. ( see posts in 541 section of the forum. ) Buyer will need to...

JOC website security certificate lapsed ??

Hi, Administrators.
I am being notified that the security certificate for the JOC site has expired. ??
Is this correct. The only way I could access the site was to allow an exception to the block.
