Re: 541 article, classic and sportscar Oct edition

The article included a nice action shot of the first and last of the 541 models. I hope the authors conclusion helps give our cars the prominence they deserve:- " The 541 is a genuine Aston and Jaguar challenger with an additional layer of exclusivity and innovation that made it the thinking dr...

Re: Bridge Classic Car Show

The last one was very good and there seems to be more going on this time. We will be there with our 541S that was a full restoration by Bridge so sort of going home.

Is there any way of getting sight of these magazine articles?

Derek
As a member you also have access to the magazine library on the club website. The link is at the top.
Chris, thanks. I’ve found them. Wasn’t expecting archives to have this extent of coverage - brilliant.

Re: 541S 1000/3 First Season Successes

Hi, stunning car!!! Great to see it on the road again!! Just a question; it looks as of the “trim” on the side front wing is chromed. As far I know the 541s has that “trim” painted in body color. What is correct? Anton Hi Anton, thanks for your interest. You are correct that the 541S trim on the si...

Re: 541S 1000/3 First Season Successes

I see you are following in the wheeltracks of Keith Hudson, owner of the immaculate award winning gold 541S. After scooping all the Concours prizes in the first year, he said "that's enough of that - now to put some stonechips on it!" 5710PLGold.jpg Not just following in the wheel tracks....

541S 1000/3 First Season Successes

This is my first proper year with the car after its 'nut and bolt' restoration. We do a few shows but the car is mostly intended to be driven, and after ironing out a few inevitable post restoration niggles last year it is now going like a dream. Two shows we have attended have had awards and the ju...

Re: CV8 MK111 - resto

It seems to me that ‘off to the crusher’ is a sad and irreversible end to these splendid cars - particularly the early models of which so few were made. My 541S was potentially a candidate for the crusher and is now perfectly restored to something very close to its 1960 ex factory condition. It is a...

Re: Surviving 541's

Thank you Dave for your inspired guess! I appreciate it is not an easy question to answer with any certainty.

Thanks also to Felix, the Richard Calver article was both interesting and informative.

I guess even if they had all survived the answer would still be ‘not many’!

Surviving 541's

Does anybody either know or could provide an educated guess as to the number of 541's, in their various incarnations, that are on the road today?

541S - Nearly There

The restoration of my 541S is at the final stage and it's looking a lot better than the shell and boxes of bits at Bridge Classics last summer. Now at the snagging stage, so lots of test driving and going through everything in detail before final (hopefully) finishing back at Bridge. Then a few mont...

Re: Lunch at Whepsted

I had already emailed Peter and Lynda thanking them for their efforts and an excellent day, not at all diminished by a couple of slightly cool steaks quickly rectified by excellent staff. Reason for adding to this post is to comment on the friendly welcome extended by everyone to Lynda and me on our...

Insurance recommendations

Any advice on good broker for my 541S insurance as restoration nearing completion. First attempts at quotes not going very well. Relatively high value and unknown marque seems to be problem. One company advertising in JOC magazine didn’t know what a Jensen was and another is currently not offering p...

541S 100/1003

Hoping my 541S will be ready soon. Attached pictures during latest stages of full restoration at Bridge Classics which has (so far!) gone largely according to plan. Hope to be at some events later in the season. The internal and external colour scheme is returned to our best attempt at the ex factor...
