Re: Restomod Interceptor coming soon

Then again there are always those who can pull it off and do something really odd and make it cool. I dont think there is much chance of that happening in this case, :D if it now has to comply with pedestrian impact legislation that spiky intake on the bonnet will have to go, but that still leaves ...

Re: Name That Car

Well vaguely................. it was originally registered TBC 94 and first owned by Fox's Glacia Mints, (but much later the Boots company bought the plate), I believe that it sported tail fins at some part of its life but not when I had it, I bought it from Mike Byrne in 85 and sold it in 93 in bit...

Re: Slow demise of the UK specialist car manufacturer

I think it is highly unlikely that Europe will be flooded with cheap chinese cars in the immediate future simply because they still have an expanding domestic market, as for the UK as an automotive manufacturing base it will only last as long as it makes economic sense, post Brexit that will depend ...

Re: Slow demise of the UK specialist car manufacturer

I think you're right, but it feels like there is a fundamental attitude problem that does not bode well for the future of the UK, in Germany (and China) for example, engineering is considered a worthy and highly regarded profession, and making things and selling them a valid activity, however I do g...

Re: Slow demise of the UK specialist car manufacturer

I strongly suspect that this is the best thing that could happen to Lotus, what Geely did with Volvo and LTC was supply much needed investment and left them alone to do "what they do best", there is also an understanding that a brand's national roots are essential to the value of the brand...

Re: Esporando ( again! )

I know this one Barrie, it was a prototype fore-runner for the ES done by Frua in 1967, known as the "rocket" (probably more on looks than performance), it can be found sitting in the Volvo museum in Gothenberg along with quite a few other showcars and one-offs, and funnily enough a SAAB V...

Seems to me that the big problem is (with the screen moved forwards) the long rear overhang looks odd, it is a little strange to take what is a classic short front, long rear, cab rearward proportion (very much a current luxury car look) and deliberately spoil it. Luckily I think it is just a bit of...

Thanks Tim, its a great kit, made by an outfit called Fisher model and pattern, based in California, quite expensive but beautifully engineered. I think I saw one of those spit kits once (unmade) and it scared me witless, you are a very brave man (even had photo-etched wing skins if I remember corre...
