Re: What did you do with your car today/weekend?

I've been having some problems with the electrics, but was determined to get the car out, so with help from an old school AA man, used a wire from the starter motor to the battery to get the car started and had a great drive early this morning.

Jensen in an advert

Beautifully shot, but God knows what it's about or what it's selling!

Re: SW London & Surrey area meeting

When I showed my family the pictures of Painshill Park, they thought it looked great and wanted to come as well, as long as it wasn't in the Jensen, in case it broke down. Inevitably, halfway there in our everyday car, it overheated. The RAC could find no leaks, so escorted us back home and that was...

Re: SW London & Surrey area meeting

Can you clarify once again the date, as the Ockham meet is the second Sunday of the month, which would be Sunday 11th and won't clash with the Walton Bridge meet on Saturday 10th...

Re: 1.60 A litre!! Going to be a expensive year.

Back in the Noughties when the Credit Crunch happened and cash for petrol was tighter, I stopped using the Jensen regularly and it turned out to be a complete false economy. I found out the expensive way that if these old cars aren't driven, they stop working properly. The hard-to-find money that sh...

Re: Mk 1 Int 115-2823 at Anglia auction

Speaking with the auctioneers, they said the car's still available, but that there was a problem with the paintwork, as can be seen here:

Re: FF Mk2 127/228

I went to have a look at this for old time's sake before the auction. The car was still nice and straight and the bonnet wasn't as bad as the photos make out, but the nearside outer sill was rotten by the front wheel and the interior was damp.

Re: FF Mk2 127/228

That's my old car - my second Jensen and my first FF, which I sold around 2005. It's a shame what time and a lack of love can do, but this car has been in the doldrums before - follow the link to see it unloved in some lock-up from ages ago. https://www.joc.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6681...

Bromley Pageant: Is there a JOC stand this year?

I know TimSP has "had it up to here" with the organisers of this event, and as I haven't so far seen anything on the forum, will there be any club presence this Sunday?

Re: Jensens at Woburn in the late 1970s

Lovely to see all these archive pictures but, for me, half the pleasure is in the amateurish way they were photographed - occasionally in focus and mainly without a thought for framing. My two favourites are Scan 29 with half a car and half a person and Scan 39, of a prize-winning CV8 and its decapi...

I've just find an easy way to get pictures from my phone to my computer, so I've about 4 years worth of spots to upload in dribs and drabs

Old versus New

The Buick has a sticker claiming that the owner has been "saving souls for Satan since 1979", while the Twizy is doing its bit to save the world and its owner some road tax. For me, they both brighten up London's streets, especially when parked next to each other!
