Re: 1972 LHD SP -- considering selling

Bob, Good to hear from you, even if its about selling PJ. My Dad was wondering what you were up to as well. We missed you at the Pismo meet. My experience driving PJ was very positive. The manual transmission hit all the gears properly and the motor pulls very hard. I would think your car would be ...

Re: 1972 LHD SP -- considering selling

Hi Bob, Good to hear from you. I still have Her 727 automatic transmission with the gear venders overdrive and all the electronics and driveshaft still in the crate you shipped it in. Do you have a price in mind for her? Todd That was kind of the reason for the post. I want to find out what the mar...

1972 LHD SP -- considering selling

Hi all. Haven't been around here much lately. Getting old. Even if you are not in the market for this car, please give me an idea of what a decent price would be. Many of you know my 1972 LHD Jensen SP that I call "Pirate Jenny." As is well-known there were only 13 LHD SP's ever made. I be...

I got rid of the distributor entirely and installed a Ford EDIS 8 system. And what do you reckon Bob, any good??? Seems to be. Completely programmable advance curve, both vis a vis rpm and vacuum (load). Never have to try finding a rotor or cap again. Making the stock rev counter wor...

Also pay close attention to the state of the insulation on the wire that goes to (or comes from) the condenser. If it is bad it can lead to a very annoying intermittent loss of ignition as the base plate moves under vacuum advance.

Since I idle at 600 rpm, I can't use too much advance at idle, but I can bring it in very quickly as I go off idle. I can also map advance based on inlet manifold pressure with this unit. Yep, these engines have always responded to full advance (about 36° to 38° BTDC) by 2000 rpm. Adding more unde...

Looks pretty sweet! Why are there two temperature sensors on the water pump housing? EFI, perhaps?

Ignition upgrade?

I am in the first stages of an ignition upgrade... or at least an ignition change. :) I am installing a Ford EDIS system in my 440. The same modification will work in any MoPar "B" series engine 350 to 440 as long as it's a big block. Actually it will work on any V-8, but the brackets woul...

I don't have any knowledge of the Jaguar gearbox. Surely it would require an adapter and I don't know of any. Hardest part on my swap was putting in a clutch pedal. I'm sure it will be different on a RHD car. I used a Chrysler A-833 4-speed overdrive 'box. It bolted right in. The shifter would be a ...
