Re: Int convertible at Historics auction OND 336P 2340/9879

My convertible, 2340-1840, is I'm told, one of the 12 RHD convertibles with the "Walnut dash" based on research done by James Barnes. James moved to NZ bringing his car (we've not met) meaning there are 2 of the 12 here now.

Re: Int convertible R on Carhuna auction site 2340-1047

Gosh we are lucky not getting the surface corrision you see here in sunny (salt free) NZ. Looks like the boot has a strut holding it up? Presumeably the hood was broken/missing hence the not so great version fitted - bet it cost plenty however. I think the side arms of the roof look different as wel...

Re: New member, 75 interceptor convertible

Thanks. I have always wondered what may lie under my convertible roof.

It breaking is the one thing I worry about, even after 17 years ... Your car looks great, enjoy !

Re: Surviving Interceptors

Yep it's just outside Wanaka. Been there a fair while, interesting old museum if passing, now has the giant santa claus that once graced the Farmers Trading Co. Deptartment store in Auckland.

Re: Selling my Interceptor MKII - Phil Fish

Dino I have those mirrors on my car. You are right they were an Aston fitted, remote controlled and heated .... very flash. I needed to get one of the black plastic plates that cover one of the mounting screws a few years back and was able to get it easily thru and Aston dealer in the UK. I can look...

Re: 1974 Interceptor Convertible Restoration Project

Picture from the outside showing how the trim fits below the roof plus a couple of picks from the inside. On one of the pics you can see the bracket - or at least a couple of the bolts that hold it on. on the other you might be able to make out the little bit of leather trim ... (thrill of the day t...

Re: '74 Interceptor convertible on BAT

Yep, I had Madera do my centre console ones when i changed them from red leather even tho I'm in NZ. On closer look the door fillets on this car sit proud relative to the surface of the trim. Have a feeling the JCC/JPS ones were recessed, but ive only ever seen pictures of them. The windows sit prou...

Re: '74 Interceptor convertible on BAT

If you look at the spare it looks like they are real knock off wires.
It's got the wood door fillets from the very last cars - always fancied them myself.
Updated Sanden AC

all looks rather good to me

BTW convertible door glass do not go all the way down. a little bit stands "proud".

Re: Oil sender conundrum

Thanks guys. Really appreciate the feedback and advice. The sender (2 of) I got from Robeys pretty much matched the "mechanical" gauge so that suggests they are ok. With regard to what I thought was possibly to-high-a pressure, Grant assures me it is ok. It is a Hauser built motor and the ...

Re: Oil sender conundrum

So .... I received a second sender from Robeys, same result near 100. Next step was connect a mechanical gauge. 85 psi, not much drop when hot. Googling hasn't helped - tho a number of posts suggests 85 isn't an issue ... thoi most posit considerably lower pressure as "normal"or "righ...
