Re: Really ?

That is what she said, her husband had bought it for a significant birthday or anniversary for her. He had a Ferrari if I remember correctly.

Re: Really ?

As much as I agree £250k is a lot of money if you work it out that the parts to do an Interceptor properly will probably cost at least £50k and a years work at £100 an hour and you get to the figure they are asking. I was talking to an owner of one of these cars last year and she was disappointed wi...

Re: Fancy spanners - Wera Joker

Crows foot spanners work well for tight places. You can choose the length of the extension you need and use a conventional ratchet handle to get things moving. The advantage these are also available in Metric and imperial sizes. You can also buy them in open ring and I have even seen them with swive...

Re: Who's first

Something I have noticed.

When you get the notification that there is a reply to a thread when you click the link it takes you to the beginning of the thread not the reply.

Re: Who's first

Yes I expect it has been a lot of hard work.

Why did I have to change my password? My computer was set to auto fill the old password but apparently it was wrong?

Looks good and thankyou for all those in the background for getting it done.

Re: Mk3 Interceptor 'Restmod' on Ebay

Dare I say this but it almost seems to cheap. A nice paint job if done properly and a new interior would have cost nearly half of the asking price. I suppose there are no bumpers and the chrome has all been blacked but it still seem good value for money. It will be interesting to see if it looks as ...

Re: JOC Open Day and AGM

I wonder what would happen if half a dozen of us or so just happened to turn up in our Jensens at the space centre for a day out on the 3rd of October?

Re: Classic cars on the road

I was speaking to an owner of one of these pillarless BMW's at a car show. He was telling me the company that had sprayed his car had damaged some of the stainless trim around the windows when they removed it. He had to buy another car to get replacements as some parts are so hard to get. Agree with...

Re: Interceptor MK3

With the rarity of some used parts I can see why the bidding is where it is.

I can't see this car being anything other than some useful parts being held together with a lot of rust. For what this would cost to put back on the road you could buy one ready done and probably have some change.

Re: Inlet/exhaust port matching - worth it?

If you were to use Edelbrock heads they have a squish of 38thou or more precisely the thickness of the head gasket they recommend you use if your pistons go to the top of the bores.

Re: Inlet/exhaust port matching - worth it?

You used to be able too buy some templates for the ideal port shape. Some one I know bought a set of heads that had already been ported and he reckoned the engine was a lot more free revving. If you are after a little more efficiency from your engine getting the compression close to 10 to 1 is a goo...

Re: Jaguar XJR (X300 6 cy) prices vs condition on the contin

A friend had one a few years ago that he had to scrap due to rust underneath, it looked perfect on top apart from stone chips but underneath the mounts for the rear axle were all moving due to corrosion. He did get a quote to have it repaired but it was going to cost more than it was worth. In the e...
