Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

Hi Dominic, That is very kind of you, I have passed on your good wishes to my dad and he sends his thanks. About the SP, he sums up his feelings as follows: "The fearful symmetry was forged with devilish intent at a time when image took preference over mechanical efficiency. How l Ioved it.&quo...

Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

Hi Dominic, Thank you so much for posting and for getting in touch. Wow! You have quite a collection by the sounds of it. "Over the moon" does get close to how it feels to find out that the car is still out there being looked after homed not a million miles away from where my dad bought he...

Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

An update: I have got an AA vehicle check report and it shows the current owner (whoever that might be) became owner number 11 on 19 October 2003 and at the last MOT she had 48k miles on the clock. Also, have heard back from Gavin Barnett who contacted Richard Calver for advice about buying her, bac...

Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

Martin - Many thanks for the idea. I will give it a go.

Eddie - Ditto.

Another nugget of info came about via Twitter over the weekend that the MOT last expired 17 Sept 2011 which would be logical with car (now registered UEY 245L) having been registered SORN in 2012.

Thanks all

Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

Eddie

Just got a screenshot off the DVLA site showing the SORN declaration. Presumably that means that someone somewhere is keeping UEY 245L off road.

Any way you can add UEY 245L after the JWO 32L of this thread just in case it helps someone to spot it?

Many thanks again.

Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

John W - I never realised it at the time ( I was 6), all I knew was that absolutely loved that car and was really cheesed off with my dad when he traded it in. To have 3 or 4 though must have been amazing. Hope you manage to track down the MK1. Eddie - I never knew that you could find out such stuff...

Re: Interceptor 111 JWO 32L

Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for your help. I am now on the forum. The photo was probably taken in 1974. The car left the factory in April 73 and my dad had it from new, bought from ADR Garage in Cwmbran, Wales. It is a pipe in his mouth (he burnt holes in the driver seat of many of our cars) and ...

The Market has Liam Dicks as the successful bidder at £16,400 but sounds like that may not have completed.

Re: Spotted Interceptor for sale

Hi Grant, Thanks for your reply. On the blue one, I had got a little carried away thinking that whilst £16k plus around £30k is a small house, it might just be do-able one day but then no doubt that is what the previous owner thought and she stayed idle in a garage with nothing done other than enoug...

Re: Spotted Interceptor for sale

Spotted this too via the usual car apps. Thought it might have gone for more but guessing it would take another £30k or so to get it tip top? - Labours of love.

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers

Many thanks Jim and Tim for your help. I realise that I have embarked, like no doubt many have done before, on what may ultimately prove to be a fruitless treasure hunt but, for me, every slither of information (such as the date she left the factory and the fact that the driver's mirror was an extra...

Re: Interceptor Registration Numbers

Hi Jim, A little off topic but I am trying to find out as much as I can about my dad's SP (profile pic) that (with help from the club's Twitter account) we think was plated JWO 32L, silver grey with black interior, vaxon 8-track & driver's door mirror. He purchased it new from a garage in Cwmbra...
