Re: Int 3 at CCA Auction PKE 174L

I had a quick look at this car whilst at the auction room today. I went to look at another make of car, but couldn't resist having a look at the Interceptors for sale too! It doesn't look a bad car, but there is some cracking of the paintwork around the front of the car and some rust down below the ...

Re: Int Mk3 S at CCA Auction PMC 190L

I saw this car at the auction room today, whilst looking at another make of car. It needs body restoration, as the rear arches and valance are bubbling up with a fair bit of rust. The body has other deep scratches to the paintwork too. The engine was running whilst I was there, but the heater wouldn...

Re: Interceptor LPB 63N sept 1974 looking at it tomorrow

Hi, Mark1stu, Jim and others, I don’t know how to respond to that stuff about hearts and heads because I bought it for less than advertised. Thanks for the brilliant run down Jim. I’ll put my inspection on YouTube for fun in due course and then you guys can put me right. I’m sure the diff is worn (...

Re: Interceptor LPB 63N sept 1974 looking at it tomorrow

Hi I hired it from Great Escapes about 9 years ago and it was looking pretty tired back then. The bodywork was rusty in places and the front seats were torn. The engine was also quite tired and lacking in performance. The air conditioning didn't work either. It has since had some bodywork replaced a...

Re: Int 3 136 8095 at Anglia Auction in November 21

It says it was in storage for 29 years, having been restored. It doesn't have any recent MOT history.

Re: Int 2 125/5278 at CC Auction

The yellow Interceptor needs a full body restoration from what I could see! Scott "the owner" who was a regular on the forum posted this a couple or so years ago >>> Finally my Interceptor 11 arrived in the UK on the weekend after having been in storage in the USA since I bought it 4 year...

I went to the auction as I was looking at something else.

The yellow Interceptor needs a full body restoration from what I could see!

Re: JOC Magazine

I preferred the previous glossy Jensen magazine to the current one, which looks more like some photocopies stapled together in comparison.

Re: Jensen servicing recommendations?

Well, I took my car to Appleyards, who serviced it and replaced the seized rear brake calipers with reconditioned ones.
It also passed it's not with no advisories.

I now have shiny new wheel nuts too, as well as shiny brake calipers!...I must polish the wheels to match!

Re: Int 3 TradeClassics

Hi all. I was considering going for this https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/jensen/1973-jensen-interceptor-2/ but having seen the full set of newly released photographs and videos am now not so sure. Is this condition typical of an Interceptor at this price point (guide £38 to £42k)? Craig H Yo...

Re: Int 2 at Mathewsons auction 10th July

Hi John Yes I decided to pass on this one. Having decided to buy my first interceptor I was really grateful to Stu for taking the time to speak to me and giving me some pointers given I am not mechanically minded and not familiar with the nuances of the marque. As a result I am going to take my tim...

Re: Jensen servicing recommendations?

Thanks for the suggestions.
The engine seems to be running ok, but I would like the whole car checked over for peace of mind and to get a new mot too.

Re: Insurance agreed value recommendations?

I decided to go with Peter Best insurance as they were cheaper and have included my agreed value at no extra cost.
Adrian Flux aka Sterling insurance did come back with a much cheaper quote, but as a broker they should have offered me a better deal in the first place!
Cheers
Jez
