the thermoquad will return highest MPG (unless you go EFI) IF you keep your foot out of it .

Bosch platinum is available again in USA if anyone is interested , best non fouling and for CD igs is Champ j12y ....Bosch platinum was an old favorite too

Right Stuff products , or Fine Lines in USA , specify carb and pump , never had trouble getting these , but not uncommon to get the wrong items ...

do you know anyone with a cylinder shorting tach/dwell or scope ? will find a missfire in seconds,,,,,,,,or maybe the crank damper has spun round ?

if a shop does Diesels , they can install hardened exhaust seats on a 440/383 .....maybe some new aluminum heads perhaps ?

there are very few chain and gear setups left on the market that wont stretch something chronic . Check out the Hughes engines site , or learn the hard way...

Daytona Carb .....Daytona FL USA has multi fuel compatible cups . Make sure you have a brass checkvalve as well . The original leather cups were best of course if there is a source for these .....In the USofA , it is common to have to "fix" "remanufactured" carbs of all types . E...

a carb is NOT fuel injection , dont expect to see one behave as such
