Having restored my interceptor I'm probably biased, but from the other side of the world I reckon that interceptor in progress will be the highlight of the show!

Re: Roller tip rocker arms and ratio.
Hi Martin I have comp cams pro magnum 1.5 rockers in my 440. They appear to be high quality and fitted well. One thing to be aware of with replacement rockers is they may need more room under the rocker covers. On the jensen alloy covers it was necessary to relocate the oil baffle on the inside of t...

Hi Andrew
Great to hear things are improved with the rubber.
If it helps you are welcome to bring your stethoscope and have a listen to my interceptor.
It will either set your mind at rest if the same noise is present, or, add to your doubts if it's not

Re: Oil Pressure advise please.
Hi Andrew
The oil filter is supposed to be rubber mounted, if you check the parts book they are shown.
This suggests Jensen had a noise issue, probably the same as yours.
It might be worth checking the mounting in case the rubbers are missing or age hardened.

Re: Cam - which to choose
Hi Rene For what it's worth, I rebuilt my interceptor mk3 H series 440 using a Lunati hydraulic roller com and lifters, along with comp cams steel adjustable roller rockers. Also I used a bronze oil pump drive gear. It was necessary to determine the correct length pushrods after the rest of the engi...

Re: CV8 electrical charging system
Hi Barrie It sounds like your alternator is not charging at idle with the voltmeter reading 11 at idle and 14 at higher speeds. The most likely cause for this will be the alternator needs to be running faster. First thing to check, is drive belt tight? Secondly,, you mentioned alternator is new. It ...

Hi Per
I would recommend using the loctite white master pipe sealant - the white gooey stuff.
I had a bit of an air sucking issue and the loctite certainly worked on mine.

Re: Heads off or engine removal
Hi Andrew I don't think you will have sufficient height using a mobile engine hoist to remove the engine and trans together. You will need to get an A frame gantry with at least 2.5m headroom. You will probably also need a second hoist (hang from same point as main one) to raise the back end of the ...

Re: Heads off or engine removal
Hi Andrew I have had a look in my tin of used core plugs and I think you will need: Block 1 5/8" cup style x 6 Head 1 1/4" cup style x 2 per head Head 1" cup style x 2 per head Cam tunnel rear - 1 9/64" cup style but has shorter sides (about 1/4") All for a 440 but I would e...

Re: electronic ignition
Hi I have an msd 6EFI ignition on my car. The tachometer works correctly using the tachometer output wire from the MSD box. The tachometer must NOT be connected to the coil terminals as the MSD box supplies much more than 12 volts to the coil. This high voltage will cook the tacho. I suspect your MS...

Re: Dash cracks and bubbles in top of dash board
Hi
Assuming that's a recent job at Dashboard Doctor, it's probably my dash and it looks even better with the instrumentsback in!
AU $850 and about 3-4 weeks - great service and reasonable price
Regards

Re: Rocker selection with Jensen rocker covers
Hmm more choices. I have rechecked the lunati cam specs and the LSA is quoted at 112 deg so I am thinking it should be ok? I did look at the crane cam and I suspect it would be very similar The other one I am considering is the Howard CL723315-12 Duration 272/278 Lift 510/500 LSA 112deg Again it see...

Re: Rocker selection with Jensen rocker covers
Hi Rohan I have bitten the bullet and ordered the rockers. I will post my findings of a trial fit for the rocker covers. Regarding the cam I have heard good things about the Lunati voodoo series. It will be at least a year before I get to run the car but the advertised specs of the 20230711 are almo...

Re: Rocker selection with Jensen rocker covers
Hi Dino Thanks for the suggestion, I have seen the baffle you mention. At present I have not yet bought any rockers. However, the comp cams ones look to be of similar dimensions so hopefully they will be ok. Being steel, they are far less bulky looking than the alloy ones. Unfortunately, nobody stoc...

That sounds like a possible plan B if I can't get a definite answer
